Amy Schumer told she would hurt people’s eyes if she was over 140 pounds

Amy Schumer appeared on The Jonathan Ross Show this week, where she admitted that she was told by producers to lose weight for her starring role in Trainwreck.

“The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie [Trainwreck] that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you’re on the screen it will hurt people’s eyes,” the actress revealed.

She also admitted that she succumbed to Hollywood’s pressure to be skinny, and lost a few pounds before filming the movie.

“I didn’t know that so I lost some weight to do that, but never again,” she said.

Amy had also previously mentioned her strict diet for Trainwreck when she appeared on the talk show Live With Kelly And Michael, and that the producers had sneakily tried to convince her that it was her idea to diet.

“They want it to be your idea, [but] they were like, ‘How do you want to look for the movie?,'” Amy explained. “And I was like, oh scarves and blazers and they were like, ‘No, maybe skip a meal.'” Ouch. ~ Natalia Makarski
