Andrew Garfield confirmed for Spider-Man 2

It was announced today that Andrew Garfield will play the role of Spider-Man for The Amazing Spider-Man sequel. Director Marc Webb is also returning to direct the sequel while anxious fans are eagerly waiting for the launch. Columbia’s president Doug Berngrad said in a statement, “We could not be more confident in the direction we are taking this new Spider-Man storyline and we are tremendously excited to be ramping up production again with Marc at the helm and Andrew continuing on as Peter Parker. We can’t wait to share what we have in store for Peter and Spider-Man with audiences worldwide.” Actress, Emma Stone will also return in the role of Gwen Stacy in the film, which is expected to be released in 3D on May 2, 2014. The first film grossed over 751 million dollars at the box office worldwide. Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci will team up with Jeff Pinker to work on the script for the new film. ~ Luxy Hariharan

    I didn’t like the first one. Sam Raimi did a fine job with the original. I stick by what I said and that this series didn’t need a reboot.

    I most seriously doubt this sequel will be as good as the great Spider-Man 2 (2004), but I am excited to see this film.
