Andrew Garfield: lucky to land Spider-Man role

nullAndrew Garfield says he feels like a fraud and is “constantly waiting to be found out.” The 26-year-old actor shot to fame when it was announced he’d be replacing Tobey Maguire in the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Spider-Man franchise. The talented young actor was relatively unknown before his big break, despite having appeared in movies such as Lions for Lambs and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus directed by Terry Gilliam. He says he still can’t believe his luck at being cast in the much-coveted role, modestly suggesting that the producers will one day realize they’ve made a mistake. “I’m constantly waiting to be found out, that I have nothing to offer,” he told Empire magazine. “I’ve been very lucky to have worked with some of my greatest filmmaking heroes. I’ve learned so much from each of them, and I try not to be conscious of the whys and the wherefores,” he added. Spider-Man fans will get to see Andrew’s performance in the latest adaptation of the superhero when it’s released in 2012. The movie takes Peter Parker back to his high school days.
