Angelina Jolie wants to fade away

Angelina JolieIn a recent interview with the BBC, Angelina Jolie admitted she plans to give up acting to be a full-time mother. “I don’t plan to keep acting very long. I’m ready to do a few things now and fade away and get ready to be a grandma one day,” she said. “I’m not so worried that I want to keep this pace up and try to be something and be a celebrity and be a successful actress forever.” Jolie also said she enjoys being a stay-at-home mom and after a few months work in February, will take another year off. “So maybe it’ll be one year and then one every three years,” she says of her future career plans. “First and foremost, I have a lot of children, and I need to make sure they’re growing right and they’ve got us there for them.”

I do’nt think the movie industry is going to miss her much.

Amazing actress that will be missed. See Angelina Jolie’s new movie, The Changeling, if you doubt that.

I for one will not miss her. I have seen a number of her films, even the “serious” ones and I find her very one dimensional. I absolutely despised her performance in Mighty Heart, unbearably bad, hated Mr&Mrs Smith, couldn’t sit through Tomb Raider crap, 10 minutes was more than enough – therefore The Changeling is not on my list, however to each his own.

Her best performance was in Beowulf lol. That scene of her coming out of the water nude..award winning! 😛

She may not win many awards for her acting but I think she’s great and very entertaining. And good for her for wanting to do the right thing once again and spend time with her children instead of furthering her career. The ‘again’ was referring to her charity work. Hollywood needs more people like Angelina Jolie.

I think Hollywood Husbands would agree with you, JAG

Put her personal life aside, I certainly give her credits for ALL the works she’s done – movies or non-movies related.

why is it that when someone decides to do something less than those sheep brained movie watchers out there deems “insignificant” that those people knock someone down. Is her announcement not sensational enough for you guys. Get a grip on reality folks. Whether she’s a bad actress or not, she’s done a hell or a lot more for the underpriviledged and bringing about recognition for the nameless, faceless masses of undercared for kids in the world. Please!!

Well it would probably be better if you stayed working for your childrens sake.
I do not feel that you are a good mother when you have nannies doing your job for you.
I would like to hear from your children when they are about 13 or 14 and their friends start to throw it up to them your “yes your” passed fancies to others. Then again what does it matter if you sleep around with other peoples husbands or girlfriends.I hope that these children take after their real parents or Mr. Pit or should I leave it at PITY.

Jeez, can’t make people happy no matter what you do, Ang. If you work, then they are all b1tch1ng that you aren’t “there” for your kids and are just hogging the spotlight, if you fade out of sight, then they are b1tch1ng that you should be doing more for the starving children and should be working to support your children! Can’t win for losing, eh Ang?

cindy, im sure if you could afford nannies for your kids, you would in a second. and im sure if you and your husband were both working youd have a babysitter, which is basically the same exact thing. this isnt about weather or not she has nannies helping her, its about her wanting to stop spending so much time on a set and RAISE THE KIDS HERSELF. all the power to you, angelina and im glad the world has someone like you thats willing to look out for those less fortunate. hope it all works out for you 🙂

You said it mandee and anonymous above mandee. Yes, Angelina slept with, or at least “fell in love with” a married man, and yes, I do feel that was wrong. But all the adults in that situation are the ones that have to deal with that, but as far as what she & Brad have done since getting together, I think they are an amazing couple.

I thought it was EXTREMELY appropriate that she played the devil in Beowulf (yes, not THE devil, but the devil in the film – religious fanatics need not get their panties in a knot). Her best (most well suited) role by far. As for the not working…. she actually suggested in that last bit about on and off time as though she’s still going to be working a fair chunk of that time.

BTW Angie, you’ve got 6 kids – in case you’ve forgotten – the others you left in their own countries, so you have six. Yes, it’s a lot – is this the first time you’ve noticed?
