Jennifer Aniston gives to Haiti

jenniferanistonJennifer Aniston’s recent donation of $500,000 to the relief effort in Haiti makes her one of the latest stars to donate to the devastated country. Aniston’s donation is said to go to Americares, Doctors Without Borders and Partners in Health. Besides participating in Friday night’s “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon, which aired on more than 60 television networks and raised more than $60 million, celebrities are doing what they can. John Travolta, a certified pilot, has flown his own jet to Haiti for the relief effort, while stars like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio have each donated $1 million. Canada’s own star-studded telethon, “Canada for Haiti,” which saw celebrities James Cameron, Celine Dion and Rachel McAdams take part, raised an impressive $13.5 million. A French-language telethon in Quebec raised about $6.7 million, which mean that the Federal Government’s bid to match whatever Canadians raise will amount to a very generous donation.  ~Clare Hill
