Anne Hathaway compares fame to cocaine

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 17, 2011 | 5 Comments

Anne Hathaway says she feels the same way about cocaine and fame. She revealed to Look magazine that she has never tried the drug because she knew she wouldn’t be able to handle it. She said: “It’s like the first time I was offered cocaine. I didn’t think it was something I could handle, so I never did it and I feel the same way about fame. If I could get the world to see the movie without having to talk about it or have my picture taken, I’d be happy — but it doesn’t seem to work that way.” In her new movie One Day, co-starring Jim Sturgess, Anne plays a shy character named Emma.  She says she had insight into the character because when she was younger: “I was cripplingly shy in certain areas and uncomfortable with being the center of attention. So I really related to Emma’s insecurities.” One Day opens this Friday.

Is it something she just said to appear grounded or does she actually feel that way?

The way some actors talk about the business, it’s sounds like they only do it because they are good at it without efforts and otherwise would be slackers because it would be too much work to learn to do anything else. Not to mention the money they make.

I totally agree, so many of them say they’re glad they became an actor because they couldn’t have done anything else. It’s like they’re too lazy to actually work. Sitting on a set getting fussed over and hundreds of thousands, or millions of dollars to play make believe doesn’t sound all that bad.

She’s a liar, she loves the attention. Why else would she a) make a comparison to how addictive it is and
    b) watch her Oscar round table interviews she totally seeks it

Really she’s comparing cocaine to fame? and saying she never did cocaine? did anyone see her co-host the oscars? I don’t know if I believe her so much lol besides if your an actress you know damn well that people are gonna talk and watch you your an actress thats what people do when they watch movies they watch you and then talk about it thats the whole point of a movie isn’t it?

I watched her on the Oscars sure as hell didn’t appear shy to me, but very comfortable at what she was doing! Seen some of her interviews she’s a girl who loves the spotlight and why not she’s talented to boot!
