Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania stays on top at box office

The biggest debut this past Friday was Cocaine Bear, but it didn’t manage to dethrone Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania from the top of the box office. Have a look at which films earned the most this past weekend.
Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Kathryn Newton, held onto the top spot with an impressive second weekend take of $32.2 million for a total of $167.3 million. Click here to read our review and click here to watch our interview with Kathryn Newton.
The comedy/thriller Cocaine Bear, starring Keri Russell, about a bear who eats cocaine that’s dropped in a forest, debuted in second place with $23 million.
Jesus Revolution, based on a true story about a counterculture movement that became the greatest spiritual awakening in American history, debuted in third place, earning $15.5 million.
Avatar: The Way of Water starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana dropped two spots to fourth place, taking in an additional $4.7 million for an 11-week domestic take of $665.4 million.
Rounding out the top five was Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The animated film, featuring the voice of Antonio Banderas in the title role, earned an extra $4.1 million for a 10-week total of $173.4 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
