Autograph request made Emma Watson cry

Emma Watson had a “breakdown” when someone asked for her autograph on her first day at university. The actress is currently studying literature at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She chose to continue her education in the U.S. rather than England because she thought students at British universities would only want to talk about her role in the Harry Potter movies, so was upset when boys approached her asking for an autograph on her first day. “In the end I had a breakdown,” she said. “Not a hissy fit, more like uncontrollable crying. Everyone looked at me horrified, like, ‘Oh my God! What’s wrong with her?’ I just said, ‘I’m really sorry, but I’m here to study and I just want to be a student. Would it be okay if I don’t sign, because you’ll be seeing me around all the time anyway?’” The 20-year-old has made some good friends, and is amazed no one has discussed her in the media or on social networking sites. “One morning I was walking down the corridor from the bathroom in just a towel and I thought I must be mad, anyone could take a picture up my towel and put in on Twitter. But no one did,” she told British Vogue. “Not even when I had my birthday party — 100 people came and not one put a picture on Facebook.”

I’m glad she found a school where everyone respects her privacy. Actually, I’m amazed. Maybe there are some decent people in the world.

To start off I believe there is a typo:

Id really sorry, but Im here to study and I just want to be a student. Would it be okay if I dont sign, because youll be seeing me around all the time anyway?’

    likely should have read:

Im really sorry, but Im here to study and I just want to be a student. Would it be okay if I dont sign, because youll be seeing me around all the time anyway?

Aside from that typo I am not so sure that mentioning that she has gotten away with normal behaviors based on her status is something I’d recommended her to announce. Now newspapers and paparazzi will be all over that campus attempting to bribe the students for pictures. Good for her to continue her studies though wish her all the best.

That’s such a beautiful photograph of her, she seems like a really classy, sweet girl.

Sounds to me like she is secretly wishing what she is referring to,to happen and is ‘sad’ that people are ignoring her…

In response to the first comment, I think the really defining word in that sentence is some.

Your comments are nasty and jealous. Didnt anyone ever tell you that if you cant say anything nice to say nothing at all – I dont think shes gone to a major university in a different country so she cant get attention. If she didnt have the IQ and grades, she wouldnt be there so shes obviously taken her education seriously. She doesnt have to play games to get attention, shes had enormous amounts of fame for almost her entire life and I find her request logical and reasonsable. She just a person who is entitled to live her life without all these losers that dont have a life wanting to know every detail of hers and making nasty speculations about her.
Obviously, you are not a student at her school – no surprise there. Go get a life.

Have a life… I don’t think you have an education. Learn to spell and when you use the words can’t or don’t do it right. Obviously you aren’t at her school either :O Your response is unreasonable and who exactly are you trying to attack here? YOU need a life. I was really bored and just happened to come upon this monstrosity and absouletely HAD to say something!
