Baldwin apologizes

Alec Baldwin apologized Friday for leaving a threatening message on his 11-year-old daughter Ireland’s voicemail. He wrote on his website: “I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened.”

It doesn’t sound like much of an apology to me, it sounds more like the jerk is just making excuses and therefore, not accepting responsibility for his behaviour. The man needs psychiatric help. It’s obvious that his verbal abuse of this child is not a one time incident, as already at the age of nine, she is not answering her phone when her father calls. What does this say? What about a charge of threatening? How did he escape this so far? Twice on that voicemail he threatened about what would happen when he met with her on the 20th……that he would “show her”, and that he would “straighten her ass out”. The girl’s voice was not even heard responding to him on the voicemail, as she knew he would just go on and on, ranting continuously. Remaining quiet indicates she knew there was lots more to come….something she would know from a series of past abusive rants and threats. Let’s hope this doesn’t cause permanent emotional damage to her.
