Barenaked Lady busted for cocaine

Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page was arrested in Fayetteville, New York for allegedly possessing cocaine. Police say they spotted a suspicious car with its doors open outside an apartment building, and after checking it out, saw a man and a woman sitting at a table with an “unknown white capsule” with a powdery substance in front of them. The substance tested positive for cocaine. Page, 38, and Stephanie Ford, 25, have been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Both have been released on $10,000 bail and must appear in court July 17. The news comes as a shock since the Barenaked Ladies have always been considered a clean, wholesome Canadian band. They recently released a children’s CD named “Snacktime.” The band’s manager, Terry McBride, says he’s confident that “Steven will be completely exonerated. Until that time, it’s business as usual for the Barenaked Ladies.”
