Batman Begins director Chris Nolan told the BBC during an interview at the London premiere of his latest film Inception that he would love to direct a Bond film. “I’ve loved the Bond films since I was a kid. For me, they’re always about the expansiveness of cinema,” he told the British network. “The first Bond films set up infinite possibilities about the world they create. I’d love to do a Bond film.” He admitted that the character of James Bond had a big influence on his latest film, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio. Inception has been described as a mixture of James Bond and The Matrix, and like many Bond films, it was shot on location around the world. Unfortunately, due to MGM’s current financial woes, it may be a long time before a new James Bond picture is in the works. Nolan’s next project is the still untitled third movie in the Batman series, starring Christian Bale.
