Beyonce drops out of Eastwood film

It seems like nothing is going right for Clint Eastwood’s A Star is Born remake. The original film, released in 1937, was a romantic drama about an aging movie star who helps a young aspiring actress launch her career. Two remakes later, Eastwood wants to redo the film and diva Beyoncé Knowles was set to play the lead role. However, it was reported this week that Knowles, who signed on to work on the film almost two years ago, has dropped out due to complications with her busy schedule. Eastwood’s remake is penned by Will Fetters, who says  the male character is inspired by grunge rock legend Kurt Cobain. Production was already brought to a halt because of Knowles’ pregnancy — enabling Eastwood to pick up an acting gig in the sports-drama Trouble with the Curve. The news of Knowles’ departure isn’t the only setback for Eastwood’s remake — he’s been unable to find an actor for the lead male role. ~Brandon Bastaldo
