Beyonce’s new album may be a bomb

Studio executives at Columbia Records are worried that Beyoncé‘s new album, titled “4,” may bomb because she’s acting like a diva by refusing to re-record some of the tracks, gossip site Page Six reports, despite the fact that none of the songs she recorded have “hit” potential. “They’re very nervous about Beyoncé’s new record,” a source said. “It doesn’t have the hit songs that her fans are used to. They asked her to make changes, but she said no.” In response, the suits are making decisions about what to do if the album is a dud and sales are slow — by considering a Destiny’s Child reunion. “Beyoncé’s career has stalled a bit,” the source, an industry insider, revealed. “Columbia seems to think they can get some mileage out of a comeback record with all of the girls.”

Usually the first single is one of the best song if not the best on the album, her first single SUCKS so bad it hurts. Who runs the world? Not you for sure.

Beyonce does not DEFINE a music industry. Is Beyonce rock, punk, metal, jazz, alternative, reggae, techno, blues….no i think not. She defines her own music in its own catagory…whatever that is..
I am not a fan of her and i think shes self
pretentious! And reunion tour with Destinys Child wont save her. She should look into others things to do like maybe host on American Idol lol or Americas got Talent..She is far from the best thing to happen to the industry. Pop and shallow hip-hop (minus hip with substance) has destroyed what purity the industry had and replaced talent and good music with sl*tty sex appeal and lip syncing.

Beyonce is a multi talented and previously multi successful performer/recording artist….so she takes a fall with this one? Big deal. You can’t take away her previous stats…

Thibz….which male sl*tty sex appeal and lip syncing” star(s) you on about? Enrique? Boys II Men?
    Eminem?

  14. Trevor • June 24, 2011 @ 10:26 AM

Jo-Anne is stupid. Beyonce is a manucfactured star that performs to a bunch of brain washed sheep.

    looks like I’ve been told…baaaaaaaaaa

I was never really a fan of Beyonce’s, however, after her last album a few years ago I really was blown away. I think that she knows what she is doing. At the Billboard Awards this year her performance was amazing and this is a general statement but everybody was blown away. She has gone outside of her element and she is not a rookie anymore and hasn’t been for a long time now. Beyonce is a power woman and her husband Jay Z is a music producer as well and he is not going to let her release a mediocre or bad album so this talk of the album ‘bombing’ is probably just gossip.

I do feel that she is beautiful and talented but highly manufactured. It’s like she’s still trying so hard to prove to everyone that she can make it big. You already have. Therefore, stop doing back-to-back albums, tours, tv specials and performances. Go away for about 2 years, have a baby like the way Celine did and then give people a chance to miss you. If she did this, then when she returns, she would be bigger than ever and people would appreciate her music again.

For me, when she comes on the TV screen now, I just change the channel because it’s over the top performances with little clothing and it’s so unnecessary because she is talented, so why are you letting the music industry dominate your image. Always be true to yourself and let the music speak for itself.

That’s why I adore India.Arie. So incredibly talented. A true artist who stays true to herself and has said many times that she refuses to change her image to please her record label or others just to make a quick buck. She wants the music to speak for itself…and it does, loud and clear and so beautifully!

I’m not the biggest Beyonce fan. I don’t feel like she evolves as much as other artists like Christina Aguilera who’s tried other genres (she can do anything is my opinion) and does different things (whether or not people like it is another matter). But I don’t understand why people think she’s manufactured. She’s not. She’s a talented singer and song writer. You can’t look at her record (I mean a record of all her work, not a music record) and think she’s being run by the heads of studios. I’m sure there’s some of that but she not *manufactured*. These Disney artists are, though, I think. I like to give the benefit of the doubt.

The fact that she doesn’t want to go back and change things may just mean creative integrity. People haven’t stopped to think that maybe she’s opposing the very thing you’re all accusing her of. Maybe this is the album she believes in and not the album “the suits” want her to make for money.

    I meant record labels.
