Bill Cosby joked about drugging women

Bill CosbyA comedy routine Bill Cosby performed in 1969 has resurfaced and it’s not helping the actor’s reputation amid the recent revival of sexual assault accusations. The LP, titled It’s True! It’s True!, which jokes about drugging women’s drinks with “Spanish Fly,” an aphrodisiac substance, was uncovered by The Village Voice’s Alan Scherstuhl. Cosby jokingly said, “Anytime you see a girl: ‘Wish I had some Spanish Fly.’ Go to a party see five girls standing alone: ‘Boy if I had a whole jug of Spanish fly, I’d light that corner up over there, hehehe.'” However, in reality “Spanish Fly” only works on men and can in fact be deadly.

In addition, supermodel Janice Dickinson has come forward in an interview with Entertainment Tonight accusing Cosby of raping her. She explained that while on a trip to Lake Tahoe to discuss a job on The Cosby Show, he gave her a glass of red wine and a pill at her request because she had stomach pain.

She revealed, “Before I woke up in the morning, the last thing I remember was Bill Cosby in a patchwork robe, dropping his robe and getting on top of me. And I remember a lot of pain. The next morning I remember waking up with my pyjamas off and there was semen in between my legs.” Janice also said she wanted to discuss the assault in her 2002 autobiography No Lifeguard on Duty: The Accidental Life of the World’s First Supermodel, but stated Cosby and his lawyers put pressure on the publishers and herself to remove it from the draft.

Due to the scandal, Netflix has decided to “postpone” the launch of a Bill Cosby stand-up special called Bill Cosby 77 and NBC has also cancelled Cosby’s new sitcom, which was in development. ~Janine Wyslobicky

If he did it, it’s good that he’s being dropped, same as Stephen Collins. But what about Bryan Singer? Why does he keep getting jobs when so many young men have accused him of assault? Because he’s a director?

Not looking good for Mr Cosby….LOVED his shows but too many women coming out with these allegations to make it go away. IF he is guilty…and I believe it looks like he is…..I hope it finishes him. What an end to such a career but he will only be remembered for rape and not for comedy.

Stephen Collins is white and his career is finished. Plus, he only has one accuser who never filed any charges and an ex-wife who made this public just to hurt him. Bryan Singer has about 12 accusers (most of whom he paid off out of court but one is adamant he doesn’t want money, he wants to put a stop to what Singer and the others are doing to young boys). I don’t think it’s a race issue. But it’s good that people who take advantage of others are being punished, however late in their life. Cosby should just retire, he’s what, about 80?

How gross to wake up & find that something like that has been on top of you. Slimey old perv.
    Gross, gross.
He might be 77 but should still have to do time for this. Will probably cause financial ruin as well being so many women stepping forward.

Forget Singer, Daniel — What about the Sony execs who continue to pedal product from a pedophile to moonwalking youngsters??? Must the dollar trump EVERYTHING?

If it was in the sixties and seventies, wasnt there a sexual revolution or something, drugs everywhere and sex sex sex? Who can tell what is happening in that time and I for one would just leave it there. No evidence, just words and manipulative words at that. Humph. Someone must be out of a job and in need of money, its a hollywood thing isnt it?

If he is found guilty , shoot the f***ing Rapehound. Enough of these celebrities getting away with this nastiness, two choices take a beating by all of his victims or here’s a loaded 44.

I wonder how many Cosby stories will it take to convince some people that this is a bad man. Twenty, one hundred, two hundred. I believe the women have been brave to finally come out with their stories. The response is still often hostile to victims of rape/sexual assault, so how much more so would it have been back in the 60’s and 70’s. I disagree that the victims should just put up and shut off. Can you imagine how maddening it must be for these victims to see this man going about his life, making millions, being adored by fans, decorated, awarded honorary degrees, while their lives have forever been scarred by his exploitation of their younger and more vulnerable selves. The hypocrisy, along with his condescension to less fortunate African Americans is mind-boggling. He needs to be held accountable for his actions, just like ordinary mortals, and society needs to stop blaming the victims. No one knows how they will react until they are faced with a situation. Many who say they would go straight to the police might feel differently if happened to them. The victims bare the blame and the shame; the rapists/abusers just don’t give a damn as long as they can keep getting away with it.

The only good thing about all this is that finally that perpetual smirk has been mostly wiped from his face.

i find it interesting that he had to sexually assault anyone – seriously – he could have found loads of women to sleep with – he was; after all, rich and famous which for some women is enough….. i hope its not true…. i hope they can prove it one way or another – he is a very funny man.
