Bindi Irwin visits Toronto Zoo!

To celebrate the April 20th release of her movie, Free Willy: Escape from Pirate’s Cove on Blu-Ray and DVD, Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late  Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, made a special appearance at the Toronto Zoo on Tuesday. Local schoolchildren attended a special advance screening of the film and participated in a Q&A with Bindi and her mother Terri Irwin. Bindi told the children that both her parents have always loved the Toronto Zoo, and when asked what her favorite animal is, she admitted, “I love crocs and snakes. But my favorite animal is the echidna.” However, she was thrilled to see all the animals at the Toronto Zoo and mentioned in particular that she enjoyed watching the polar bears and Canada Geese but was most excited to see a Canadian rattlesnake. Bindi also spoke briefly about her father, calling him her hero, and saying, “He taught me so much.” She encouraged the children to stand up for animal rights issues, including signing a petition to save the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, a wetland conservation property in Queensland, Australia, which is being threatened by strip mining. Following the appearance, she and her mother left to go have dinner at the CN Tower. Watch the trailer for the new movie below:

Bindi is such a beautiful little girl, full of life. I loved the movie and I found that she was really good in it. I hope that one day my daughter has the opportunity to see the orcas like she did.
Congradulations we can see that you will take over your father’s love for the animals.

    All the Best to you.
