Bridget Jones’s Baby- The third film in the Bridget Jones franchise follows the Bridget (Renée Zellweger) as she enters her forties and struggles to figure out who the father of her unborn child is. Colin Firth returns and Patrick Dempsey makes his Bridget Jones debut.
The Huntsman: Winter’s War- The Ice Queen (Emily Blunt), the younger sister of Evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron), has a baby daughter who is going to be the fairest in the land one day. The magic mirror warns Ravenna that her sister will gain powers if anything happens to her baby. Nonetheless, Ravenna has to carry out her evil deed, which starts a war. A warrior named Sara (Jessica Chastain) and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) join the fight against evil.
Genius- Genius traces the complex friendship and transformative professional relationship between the world-renowned book editor Maxwell Perkins (Colin Firth) (who discovered F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway) and the larger-than-life literary giant Thomas Wolfe (Jude Law).
The Nice Guys- In 1977 Los Angeles, private investigator Holland March (Ryan Gosling) teams up with a goon (Russell Crowe) named Jackson Healy to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star, which leads them to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy.
High-Rise- In 1975 England, Dr. Robert Laing (Tom Hiddleston) moves into a new apartment west of London, that’s based on class system, with the wealthy tenants at the top and the poor tenants at the bottom. But the poor aren’t happy with constantly losing power and not being able to enjoy the same amenities as the top tenants, so as the lights go out and the elevators fail, a battle breaks out. Based on the dystopian novel High-Rise by J.G. Ballard.
Deepwater Horizon- In the Gulf of Mexico in 2010, the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, creating the worst oil spill in American history. This film, which stars Mark Wahlberg, recounts the extreme moments of bravery and survival in the face of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in world history.
The Shallows- A young woman (Blake Lively) surfing alone on a secluded beach is attacked by a great white shark and is stranded on a rock 200 yards from shore. Bleeding and in shock, she has to figure out how to get back to land in one piece.
Green Room- While on the road in Oregon, a down-on-their-luck punk band (including Anton Yelchin) agrees to perform a last-minute gig in order to make enough money to buy gas to get home to Virginia. The booker advises them not to “talk politics” — which seems easy enough, until they take the stage facing an audience of neo-Nazi skinheads.
