Britney gets special airport treatment

By Alexandra Heilbron on November 6, 2009 | 33 Comments

Britney Spears at LAXBritney Spears managed to get through airport security at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) while sipping from a large Mountain Dew cup. Liquids are usually only allowed in small quantities for security purposes, but it looks like Britney got special treatment. Airport Security Rules state that passengers are allowed to carry travel sized (3 ounces or less) containers of liquid in a see-through container, or a 3.4 ounce bottle of water, if it’s purchased at the airport after clearing airport security. However, a security specialist from the U.S. Department of Transportation Security Administration told TMZ.com that screeners have “discretion” when it comes to letting liquids through security. In other words, if you’re a celebrity, the rules don’t apply.

That means that if you have money it talks and if you don’t you mean NOTHING!!! That security Specialistisn’t so special after all and should be fired!! Ms Britany should be booted in the ass for her arrogance.. She just lost a major fan!!

  3. Jim • November 6, 2009 @ 11:25 AM

Lost a fan? Who was a fan to begin with?

  4. Anka Butorac • November 6, 2009 @ 1:42 PM

That’s ridiculous. You make it sound like she walked on board with a 26 oz of Jack Daniels. Really…………..
At least it gives her some press…………………….

  5. mandee • November 6, 2009 @ 1:52 PM

thats rude. i think its ridiculous that a) this made news b) they allowed her to do something there would quite clearly be pics of c) that anyone CARES.

  6. Thibz • November 6, 2009 @ 1:52 PM

Mmmmm Mountain Dew, she could have at least shared some.

  7. Thibz • November 6, 2009 @ 1:55 PM

That mountain dew probably had alcohol in it anyway!!!

  8. hmmm • November 6, 2009 @ 4:16 PM

and what if she were planning to carry out terrorist activity? I guess it’s OK since she’s a celeb.

  9. kevin • November 6, 2009 @ 4:19 PM

u guys kill me – brits lost it n so have u over mountain dew – lol

  10. Nancy • November 6, 2009 @ 5:49 PM

After her head shaving episode and attacking people with an umbrella, I’m amazed they would even allow her in the confined space of an airplane!

  11. jean • November 6, 2009 @ 6:50 PM

The rules shouldnt apply to celebrites.
we make them who they are
    then why complain

we buy their cds, watch their shows, buy their products. and then we complain she got through security with a mountain dew ,… when you are as famous and as rich as britney then maybe you can talk.

    good for her!!!!

  14. Nancy • November 7, 2009 @ 12:27 AM

Man! None of them even sympathize with you being sick? What if you do have H1N1? What will they do then? Or, should I ask, are you still expected to do everything you do when you’re not sick?

  15. Nancy • November 7, 2009 @ 12:28 AM

I also can’t resist asking you, mandee…have you seen the coffee and donuts? LMFAO!

  16. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 7:36 AM

yep, when im sick i still do everything i always do. i never just rest. partially because my family wont do any of it, and i think partially because when i DO lay around and do nothing i actually feel physically WORSE. it was such a bad night, i woke up every half hour for the entire 6 hours i was in bed. i feel like crap!!!

and sorry, havent saw the coffee and donuts since june 😛 your SOL lol.

  17. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 7:37 AM

btw, ive coughed so hard ive pulled all the muscles from my chest right around my sides to my back…tg wondering if you and your family have this prob? just took a t3, sure hope it kicks in soon!

  18. Thibz • November 7, 2009 @ 10:29 AM

Did you really pull your muscles Mandee….Have you really pulled a muscle before or are you sure its not your muscles sore from being sick….seriously if you pulled all your muscles from coughing the you may have just set a world record!!

  19. gypsy • November 7, 2009 @ 12:21 PM

Mandee..when your coughing all the time your chest, side and back muscle’s tighten up. After awhile they feel constricted all the time.If you don’t have any cough med or cough drop’s (Halls) or whatever type you prefer, maybe you should ask someone in the family to pick you up some. That and good ole Vick’s rub will help ease the tightness in all area’s,don’t be surprised if your shoulder and neck muscles start getting tight as well, if your hacking that bad.I know both are working for my daughter and myself. If you have neither a old fashion remedy would be to get a long towel or scarf and wrap it around your upper body really tight, tuck or pin it together,it should help ease the tightening when you cough.I hope this helps you get some rest.Take Care!!

mandee, my muscles all around my chest, back & neck have been very sore from coughing, but I’m really doing well now, still coughing, but feeling a lot better. My youngest is coming around, but still no energy, has a cough, naps a lot and gets headaches. The older boy is still really sick, fever finally broke, but around 3am this morning he was so cold he was shaking quite violently. He missed school all last week, and I imagine he will miss at least the first part of this week. My daughter has a slight cough and a bit of a scratchy throat, so she’s going right in to see if they will give her tamiflu. I’m doubting it, but you never know.
We have actually been advised that cough medicine and cough drops are no good, to instead (I swear, this is what I’ve been told!) to take a teaspoon of honey every so often. I haven’t done it myself, my oldest boy has, and so far it hasn’t helped him, but it did help his father.

  21. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 3:38 PM

im not quite as dizzy today, the t3 helped tons with my head. it definitely feels more like pulled muscles than just constricted, but i dont really know i guess. 😛 i managed to sleep for 5 hours straight, so maybe im starting to get better already. if i am, i doubt it was swine flu, but reading the symptoms really freaked me out! im getting hot AND cold flashes today, where im so hot im sweating and then im so cold im getting goosebumps. still coughing, chest etc still hurts, my nose is a bit stuffy. i dont know what else to do when im sick bc i cant just lay around (especially with my lower back problems that come and go!) so thats why im actually still coming online. ttyl hope everyones doing well, im glad some of you are starting to feel better tg! how are you and your daughter gypsy??

  22. tributegirl • November 7, 2009 @ 5:09 PM

mandee, I hope you don’t have it, but it sounds like you probably do. If so, good luck, it’s a nasty virus!

  23. Nancy • November 7, 2009 @ 6:17 PM

I know that I only (knock on wood) had a cold but, I ONLY started feeling better once, at bedtime, I’d rub Vicks Vapo Rub on my chest and just a touch underneath both nostrils. An elderly woman I know told me “I know you don’t drink much but, go to the liquor store and get a small bottle of gin and mix it with pure lemon juice and a bit of water. Down it and go to bed! You’ll be better the next day.” I decided against that and tried the Vicks instead, LOL. I woke up the next day and felt almost 100 % better.

  24. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 6:30 PM

    lmao. i was considering alcohol for a while yesterday…then i remembered…sadly im broke !

  25. gypsy • November 7, 2009 @ 8:18 PM

Mandee..My daughters fever broke late last night, shes still on the tamiflu and antibiotics.I brought her down some chicken soup, halls and orange juice, left it outside her door, knocked and booted it back upstairs.I still won’t go to the clinic until it slows down a bit.The old-man went to the nurses this morning to get his stomach and leg done,he checked the clinic and it was packed again at 9am.He went and got her some wong tong soup that she wanted last night, and a humidifier (cool-air)she’s still coughing, but no fever and her appetite is coming back. That’s a good sign, she wraps her upper body tight with a long scarf to keep the muscles from expanding and tightening when she is coughing and that is helping her get some much needed rest. The doc said 7 to 10 days so shes got a few more days to go.According to the paper 1 H1N1 clinic will be opened on the 12Th,so I’ll be heading to the clinic today to get tested, as I don’t think I can get the shot if I’m sick.I decided if I don’t have it now (H1N1) I’m gonna get the shot!!

  26. gypsy • November 7, 2009 @ 9:19 PM

TG..I was wondering if you get the flu, do you still have to get the shot? Nobody down here that I asked seem’s to know!!I guess all Dr’s are different as my girl got prescribed codeine cough med. with the tamiflu and antibiotics and prednisone. The chief medical office of health declared a community-wide outbreak of H1N1 in the Niagara region, yesterday. He further stated that Niagara has the highest rate of H1N1 in Ontario, double the average in the province. Now I really don’t want to go to the clinic tonight!!!!Apparently if you go to the hospital their putting everyone who has the symptoms in a huge room and testing everybody. If you didn’t have it going in, you’ll probably have it when you leave. That really sucks your dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t!!I believe I’ll wait till 6 in the morning and go log in,give them my cell number and wait in the car till my turn!!Its probably safer that way! OH forgot to ask you, TG if you do get the shot how long are you sick for? I hope your family gets better ASAP,As I know you must be feeling pretty much done in by now,Take Care !!!

  27. mandee • November 7, 2009 @ 9:53 PM

i was wondering if loss of appetite was part of it. on the site i found it didnt say anything about it. everytime i THINK of eating for the last 2 days all i wanna do is throw up all over the floor. im glad she only has a few more days. im so sick 🙁 ive only been awake like 6 hours all day (it was off and on) wondering if anyone else has been having crying fits or if thats just me?

  28. gypsy • November 8, 2009 @ 12:03 AM

Naw Mandee,my daughter cried every time she woke up,which was every hour.I guess her coughing caused her to wake up,then her head started to ache and her whole body also. She told me today she literally felt like she was dying,we only talked for a few minutes cuz she still feels so exhausted.I thank GOD that her fever broke, she said she never felt nauseated, she drank 10 two litre jugs of orange juice in 2 days,I got her 2 cases of ginger ale but according to her the juice helped with her stomach cuz you have to eat something when taking the tamiflu and antibiotics,so you don’t get sick.Mandee you really should go to the clinic to see what they have to say!!Take Care OK.

  29. mandee • November 8, 2009 @ 5:37 PM

went to the clinic, she wouldnt even test me for swine flu. im feeling MUCH better today except that last night when i was asleep i woke up having the worst coughing fit of my life, couldnt breathe at all, even for like 20 mins after the coughing fit i was struggling to breathe, used my sisters inhaler and went to sleep. i told the clinic this (while still coughing and wheezing) and she checked my breathing and said youre fine but heres some cough medicine and an inhaler. im worried bc i have a high risk of getting pneumonia(since i was little and had it and got scar tissue on my lungs the drs said i can get it from just a cold, so thats why whenever i get a cold i get bronchitis) which i told her and she just said im fine. almost everything is gone today except the coughing, the wheezing, the stuffy nose. i asked her if i could have had swine flu and just managed to get over it quickly and she said people with swine flu are really sick i said i just told you the last 2 days ive BEEN really sick thats why i havent come in i was too sick to come sit in a waiting room for an hour or 2. she wouldnt say anything else except that shes not testing me. so, either i have a really really good immune system that fought it off, or it turns out i just had a flu and im going to be fine. hope you are all doing better (and your families!)

  32. gypsy • November 11, 2009 @ 11:41 PM

NEWS-FLASH…There was only ice-chips in the dam cup!!!!NO liquid.

  33. Sue • November 11, 2009 @ 11:51 PM
