Britney visited by Dr. Phil, released

By Alexandra Heilbron on January 7, 2008 | 16 Comments

Britney SpearsBritney Spears was visited by television’s Dr. Phil McGraw just prior to her release from hospital on Saturday. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by ambulance Thursday after a three-hour standoff with the police at her home. McGraw issued a statement to Entertainment Tonight on Saturday saying: “My meeting with Britney and some of her family members this morning in her room at Cedars leaves me convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention. She was released moments before my arrival and was packing when I entered the room. We visited for about an hour before I walked with her to her car. I am very concerned for her.” The Dr. Phil show is airing a special about Spears on Wednesday. Meanwhile, custody of her two sons was given to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, at an emergency hearing on Friday. The custody order remains in effect until January 14.

I always thought Dr. Phil was a quack, but he’s apparently just an opportunistic S.O.B. He gives psychologists everywhere a bad name; so, who can we call to have his license pulled?

And, thank you very much Oprah for introducing America to him. Makes one take a deep breath if you’re putting your support behind Obama.

There’s just no killing cockroaches; they were here before us and will long outlive us. It would appear some even take human form!

her career is done with cuz of everything she did.

  14. Anonymous • January 8, 2008 @ 5:56 PM

Didn’t realize I was putting Oprah on the cockroach list alongside Dr. Phil – but if the shoe fits.

Hey, do you think if Barack Obama gets the nod for President, he’ll pick Oprah to be his running mate? Oprah for VP?

  15. me • January 9, 2008 @ 1:19 PM

No doubt, Obama & Oprah are best buds now. I can’t stand either one of them. I do like Dr Phil though, and I hope he works with Brit privately, or finds help for her. Her career is toast, but her kids are still little, if someone could fix her, maybe the kiddies would have a chance at a decent childhood. And that’s a big IF.

  16. Karen • January 10, 2008 @ 12:28 AM

She’s going to have a meltdown soon and be involuntarily committed. She’ll lose her kids for good. This is pretty much the end for her. Its all for the attention. I have never seen someone who stares into the camera so much. She loves it, she lives for it but it will be a little too late when she realizes, oops I did it again, I went too far…..

Not only will she not be able to recover. She will be lucky if she even gets visitation for those poor boys and look who they’ll end up with! At least he seems to be a closet partier. They should be testing him too if what they say is true about his dope and drinking.

Those poor boys. They’ll never want the limelight like their parents now. They’ll be too embarrassed to say who their parents are. Who would blame them?

Dr. Phil…I don’t watch any talk shows but from what I hear, you aren’t too bad. You are working with a lost cause. Give it up before you do actually give up on her….
