Brittany Murphy leaves estate to mother

brittany_murphyBrittany Murphy left her estate to her mother Sharon. The 32-year-old actress died in December, after collapsing at the Los Angeles home she lived in with her husband Simon Monjack and Sharon. It has now been revealed the late star left all her possessions to Sharon. “Brittany’s husband, Simon Monjack, told us after they got married Brittany had a formal will drafted, along with a trust. Simon tells us all of her assets under the new will and trust go to Sharon,” gossip website TMZ reports. “Simon tells us, at his request, the will specifically says, ‘I am married to Simon Monjack who I have intentionally left out of this will.’ ” The widower also revealed Sharon has put the Los Angeles property where Brittany died up for sale. Simon added that when a buyer is found, he and Sharon are planning to move to New York.

🙁 im glad she left her belongings to someone less fortunate than her husband, but im still sad that she passed away.

  2. ass • March 3, 2010 @ 6:15 PM

I think her husband and mother are getting it on

  3. Nancy • March 3, 2010 @ 6:24 PM

Simon says, Simon says. “Simon added that when a buyer is found, he and Sharon are planning to move to New York.” I wonder what SHARON says…

  4. Red • March 3, 2010 @ 6:30 PM

    That DOES sound kinda awkward…
She didn’t have any kids, I’m assuming? (I admit that I don’t follow celebrities at all..)

  5. anonymous2 • March 3, 2010 @ 6:35 PM

Cuddling up to his deceased wife’s mother very creepy.

  6. Nancy • March 3, 2010 @ 6:47 PM

Yeah, maybe they “offed” her too.

  7. demigod • March 3, 2010 @ 8:31 PM

Nice of her to exclude her husband from her will. What little regard.

  8. Nancy • March 3, 2010 @ 9:35 PM

If you believe Simon then, yes, I guess she did exclude him. Personally, I don’t believe him. I think she had her will drawn up leaving her mother as sole beneficiary long ago and just never had it redone since marrying. I mean, who really thinks they are going to die so young?

  9. Carol • March 3, 2010 @ 9:55 PM

If the will was done before marriage then the marriage would in fact make it null and void. There are certain life changes that can make a will invalid.
It seems a lot of people are very skeptical of her husband, so I think it is good she left it to her mother.
As far as the mother/husband getting it on…I’ve seen it happen on the reverse in my hometown. Pretty gross and disrespectful, but it happens.

  10. demigod • March 4, 2010 @ 12:09 AM

Why all the skepticism towards him?

  11. Minerva • March 4, 2010 @ 2:40 AM

Does anybody know what she died of? It’s rare that an able bodied 32 year old just collapses and dies of natural causes. It does sound almost like Simon was doing them both. Otherwise, why would he want to move to New York with her mother after she gained everything her daughter owned? Normally, there should be a strong element of resentment and jealousy for the mother there, since he was her legal spouse but this doesn’t seem to be the case. They all lived together while Brittany was alive. So now would be his big chance to live without his mother-in-law, but instead, they plan to move to NY together…..although, the item doesn’t specify their move will be “together”, but the statement he made sounds like it.

  12. demigod • March 4, 2010 @ 3:01 AM

The condolences expressed here for Simon in losing his wife is overwhelming.
Carol raises a good point, that a will previously written becomes void once married. If no other will was drawn, her husband would be left the estate. If there was another will, and her mother is the beneficiary, then he’s telling the truth.

  13. demigod • March 4, 2010 @ 3:07 AM

    lol Minerva idk..

    I personally think she OD’ed

  14. Amy • March 4, 2010 @ 2:22 PM

I also think some fishy is going on between Simon and Sharon. Secret lovers?

  15. Mary • March 4, 2010 @ 5:04 PM

If this is true about Britanny ‘s mom and husband selling the property and then moving to New York together sure sounds like there might be more to this than what we’ve been reading.

  16. mandee • March 5, 2010 @ 1:30 AM

it said she died of pneumonia (spelling?) and she also had a bad heart. i dont believe it was an OD.

  17. demigod • March 5, 2010 @ 3:23 AM

Mandee, the article sounded bias and inaccurate to me. Vicodin is a prescription pain-killer similar to morphine. The article said all that was found in her system were OTC meds. Apparently the rest turned out to be anti-seizure medication..another prescription pain-killer she’s been taking since filming 8-Mile.
Funny there was no mention of the antibiotics she must have been on to treat the pneumonia. That’s a hell of a cocktail.

  19. Minerva • March 5, 2010 @ 7:07 AM

Anti-seizure medication? Then was it possible she was epileptic and died during a seizure? Seizures can kill an epileptic at any age.

  20. Nancy • March 5, 2010 @ 11:36 AM

Carbamazepine, aka Tegretol, is used to control the central nervous system. It is prescribed to people who take seizures, people with a facial tic, some people with multiple sclerosis, some who are manic-depressive and some who just plain have nerve pain and other medications don’t work. Dizziness and drowsiness are symptoms and so are cardiovascular problems. Just because all the medications listed on ones toxicology report were present, doesn’t mean they took them on a regular basis. Carbamazepine is a “regular basis” medication whereas Vicodin is something one could take once in a while. Medications can stay in one’s system for weeks. She didn’t know she had pneumonia…so why would there be anti-biotics in her system? Her doctor appointment was in a few days and she never went to hospital. Instead, she used over the counter cold and flu medicine for what she thought was the flu…as any of us would do who are waiting to get in to see our doctor and are too sick to wait hours in emerg. or at a clinic…let alone deal with fans during those hours. I think she just plain didn’t know that these different meds stay in your system for such a long time and mix together, making a fatal cocktail.

  21. demigod • March 5, 2010 @ 5:51 PM

Nice research Nance. Spend all night looking this up?
If it was known she took ant-seizure meds back then, it’s safe to assume her ‘symptoms’ (I believe chronic pain) were ongoing if found in her system at the time of death. Having ‘elevated levels’ of Vicodin is certainly flirting with death.
Chlorpheniramine can also be found in many OTC cold/flu/cough/allergy meds. Maybe she was taking this too for her ‘mild’ pneumonia that supposedly KILLED HER.
She may/may not have known she had pneumonia, but it’s not known to kill 30yr olds that quickly! I thought the ’cause of death’ was ‘convenient’.

  22. mandee • March 5, 2010 @ 6:14 PM

demigod and nancy thanks for explaining things a bit better for me.

demigod, i think the pneumonia caused her to have a heart attack, i still dont think it was an OD 😀

  23. Nancy • March 6, 2010 @ 12:54 AM

Demigod: Actually, I didn’t research any of my comment. The first five lines of my comment, I already knew and the rest is just common sense…which you obviously would know nothing about. Why do you always get so defensive and beyotchy and direct your idiotic comments to me? Why don’t you latch onto someone or something else? I know you think she OD’d, so what, big deal, I don’t agree with you but yet, I still wasn’t ignorant to you. LEECH!

  24. MJ • March 6, 2010 @ 1:56 AM

Umm…has anyone even considered the idea that Sharon treated him like a son, so he’s treating her like a mom? If Brittany was taking care of her, maybe he’s taking over like Brittany would have wanted? They were all living together when she was alive, which makes you think they were a happy family. What if she was the kind of mom who made pancakes for breakfast? or brought you chicken soup & orange juice in bed when you were sick? Growing up, my mom was like that, & still is if she visits – and I’m grown up & married.

So many of you automatically assume they’re lovers…that’s kinda disturbing…

  25. demigod • March 6, 2010 @ 6:26 AM

Excuse me? Who’s the lil’ beyotch who jumped in pretending to even know about the anti-seizure meds before I mentioned it? And now you’re the resident pharmaceutical/toxicology expert with the common sense lol You kill me.

  26. Minerva • March 6, 2010 @ 2:54 PM

Nancy: March 5, 2010 11:36 AM “Dizziness and drowsiness are symptoms and so are cardiovascular problems”. Could it be that you meant “side effects” instead of “symptoms”?? Symptoms of what?
Nancy: March 6, 2010 12:54 AM “Why do you always get so defensive and beyotchy and direct your idiotic comments to me? Why dont you latch onto someone or something else?”. Um, geez, this sounds like a pretty defensive comment to me, all Demigod did was ask you if you spent all night looking up your information. Nobody can say anything to you. Iron pills still constipating??

  27. Nancy • March 6, 2010 @ 5:12 PM

Demigod March 6, 6:26 AM: “Who’s the lil’ beyotch who jumped in pretending to even know about the anti-seizure meds”? – “Jumped in”?? I am allowed to COMMENT or ‘jump in’ just as anyone else. “Pretending to know” – hahaha. I don’t “pretend” anything.

“And now you’re the resident pharmaceutical/toxicology expert with the common sense” – Never said I was a “pharmaceutical/toxicology expert”. Far from it. I do however, know what THIS drug (and a few others) are prescribed for. Common sense…yes, I do have great common sense.

Minerva: Yes, I did mean “side effects”…thanks for proving that I didn’t stay up all night researching it! LMAO.

“Nobody can say anything to you. Iron pills still constipating?” – I’ve never been “constipating”, Minerva. Lots of people say things to me but, there are a few LEECHES on here who just keep things going…Demigod is one of them…you are another (obviously). You know, as a lot of others do, that I can’t say anything without your LEECH friend jumping ALL OVER my comments. As I said to Demigod, “I don’t agree with you but yet, I still wasn’t ignorant to you”. I also had not directed any comment to him/her up until the rudeness. Anyways, I never said a word to you either so…

  28. Cesar • March 7, 2010 @ 6:08 PM

Well if he loves her for real then he wont care about the spoils!

  29. Minerva • March 8, 2010 @ 1:23 AM

Nancy: March 6, 2010 5:12 PM : “Minerva: Yes, I did mean side effectsthanks for proving that I didnt stay up all night researching it! LMAO.”
It doesn’t mean any such thing, it just means that you have no idea about what you read.

  30. Nancy • March 8, 2010 @ 3:40 AM

About what I read? Obviously YOU are the one who has “no idea”, for IF I had “read” or “stayed up all night researching”, I wouldn’t have written what I wrote wrong. So yes, it means exactly that…that you proved I did not stay up all night researching it. Man you guys are petty! Must be jealous or something, Idk..?? You think people can’t know certain things that you dummies don’t? But yeah, just keep it going there, Minerva. Btw, just a little reminder to you once again, I hadn’t said anything to you. LEECH!

  31. demigod • March 8, 2010 @ 5:19 AM

Got that right Minerva..Nance is constipated, cos she’s so full of it. Her pretense and transparency is obvious to all.

  32. Nancy • March 8, 2010 @ 3:45 PM

Sure LEECH. If I were to lie, it wouldn’t be over something so petty as uses and “side effects” of ONE medication, hahahaha. Dumb@$$es!

  33. Nancy • March 8, 2010 @ 3:45 PM

But, go right ahead and think and type what you want…just goes to show what I said is exactly correct! LOL.

  34. demigod • March 8, 2010 @ 10:05 PM

You just confirmed it. You’re a fatter liar.

  35. Nancy • March 9, 2010 @ 2:39 AM

The only thing I “confirmed” is that you are both LEECHES, LOL. Like I said, “just goes to show what I said is exactly correct!” Petty, petty, petty…always have been, always will be.

  36. Nancy • March 9, 2010 @ 11:38 AM

    ┌∩┐(◣_◢)┌∩┐

  37. demigod • March 9, 2010 @ 12:53 PM

^ Your kids teach you that? Or was that a copy/paste from one of their emails to you?

  38. tributegirl • March 9, 2010 @ 6:04 PM

ROFLMFAO!!!!!!! Nancy, how did you do that???

  39. Nancy • March 9, 2010 @ 7:47 PM

Tributegirl: Just a few certain keys, hahaha.

Demigod: Nah, my kids have actually been taught to respect people, especially their mother…unlike YOU! Of course, the first conclusion that you would jump to though, is that I don’t know how to do it. My kids must have taught me or….maybe I “stayed up all night and researched it”, hahahaha. LEECH! Trust me, I’m smarter than you sound. 😉

  40. demigod • March 9, 2010 @ 11:41 PM

…says the least respected one here. Have you earned your kids’ respect? lol

  41. Nancy • March 10, 2010 @ 12:47 AM

Awe, come on now…I’ve told you numerous times that I am not interested in you so stop trying to find out things in my life. Just because your childhood sucked doesn’t mean every child’s does. Btw, this is the internet, we don’t know each other here so what would “respect” really be worth ’round these parts? LMAO!

  42. demigod • March 10, 2010 @ 4:18 AM

What a gross misinterpretation. You give a new meaning to the term ‘twist’. My childhood didn’t suck, I’m just sorry for your kids having a ditz for a mom.

  43. Nancy • March 10, 2010 @ 12:47 PM

There you go, in MY life again. Yeah, some “twist” huh?

    1. I’m not a “ditz”
    2. My kids are great, smart kids and are very well raised.
    3. No need to feel sorry..except for yourself.
    4. Get some help with your anger issues against women, then maybe you won’t feel the need to try to build yourself up while knocking them down.
