Brittany Murphy’s mother breaks silence on daughter’s death

Almost four years after her daughter’s death, Sharon Murphy has broken her silence about the death of Brittany Murphy and her husband as well as recent lab reports suggesting Brittany was murdered in an open letter in The Hollywood Reporter. Earlier this month, lab reports done by Brittany’s father Angelo Bertolotti found traces of heavy metals left in Brittany’s hair which suggest that she ingested rat poisoning. Now, Sharon is coming forward to refute the claims. “I have no choice now but to come forward in the face of inexcusable efforts to smear my daughter’s memory by a man who may be her biological father but was never a real father to her in her lifetime,” she wrote. “He has made outrageous statements over the past few years, culminating in this latest madness: that my darling daughter was murdered.” Sharon believes the lab reports were done through an Internet lab and was told that blood and tissue samples were needed to help back up the findings. Throughout the letter Sharon refutes the claims and completely objects to any cause of death that does not align with the one the coroner reported, which was of natural causes. Previously, Sharon believed mold in the house was responsible for killing her daughter and son-in-law and placed the blame on the builders of the house.

Brittany Murphy died in December 2009 from pneumonia and anemia and her husband Simon Monjack died five months later from the same causes. Sharon Murphy lived with Brittany and Murphy in their house from 2007 until soon after Simon’s death. She was the sole heir of Brittany’s estate. ~Brie Davis

Let’s see. She was living in the house when both died. She inherited everything. It’s really sad that a mother would kill her daughter for her money, but it’s starting to look like that’s exactly what happened.
