Candy Spelling talks about rift with Tori

Candy Spelling is attempting to repair the estrangement between her and daughter Tori through her book, “Stories from Candyland.” Candy has never met Stella, Tori’s 10-month-old daughter with husband Dean McDermott. In her book, she composes a direct letter to her grandchildren, Stella and two-year-old Liam. “I love you and you have brought so much happiness and meaning to all of us,” she writes. “My only sadness is that you didn’t get to meet your grandfather. Oh would he have loved you, no, make that worship as he worshiped your mother.” Will Tori read her mother’s book? It seems unlikely, since Candy didn’t read her daughter’s autobiographical novel “sTORI Telling.” She says, “I didn’t read her book so I don’t know exactly what she said. My friends told me it was hurtful. They’d read it and told me, ‘you know what? [You] shouldn’t,’ so I didn’t.” Candy still feels optimistic and looks forward to making amends with Tori. She has even started building a playroom for her grandchildren in her home. ~Meryl H.
