Cannes International Film Festival 2013 award winners

The 66th annual Cannes International Film Festival wrapped up Sunday and award winners were announced at the closing ceremony, hosted by Audrey Tautou. The festival jury members honored a range of talent, young and old, from around the world including France, U.S.A., Mexico, Japan, Singapore, Cambodia, South Korea, and China. Many of the celebrated movies, like the Palme d’Or winning Blue Is the Warmest Color, Best Director winner Amat Escalante’s Heli, and Jury Prize winning film Like Father, Like Son, stirred up conversation and controversy with their sexually-explicit, violent, and heartbreaking moments. North American audiences won’t recognize most of the names attached to these films but they’ll likely be exposed to them again when awards season starts to ramp up later this year. Without further ado, here is the list of official winners from Cannes 2013. ~ Cassie Jasinski
