Carson Daly outraged by Britney Spears request

Carson Daly, who first interviewed Britney Spears almost 15 years ago, was outraged by a request her management team made in regards to Daly interviewing the 29-year-old singer for his show. He was asked to pre-tape the interview, which is usual practice for Britney, but they also want the interview submitted to them for approval and editing before it airs. He tweeted on Tuesday:“I was jst TOLD my @britneyspears interview tomm on @ampradio MUST b pre-recorded & submitted 4 approval by HER mgmt b4 it can air! F THAT!” When another tweeter accused him of being unprofessional, he replied: I’M UNPROFESSIONAL? FAKING AN ENTIRE INTERVIEW?” He then went on to tweet: “jst shocked her mgmt won’t let her do a normal interview. She probly doesn’t even know” and “I’ve known and supported her since she was 15. This has nothing to do w her. Just her ppl.” His last tweet regarding the interview was to @DASHNYCdude, explaining: “hey ant, pre-recording it was NO prob- her mgmnt taking and editing the tapes overnight was the issue. Be well:)”

That’s ridiculous. Good for him for telling her people to forget it.

I support this stance. There is a lot to be said for this sort of honesty. Well done

This is crazy stuff. Carson Daly is a well respected journalist who has been in the business for such a long time. I think her people have just gone too far this time… wonder if she even knows that she’s being so overprotected… I am in total agreement with him for refusing to do the interview if doing it means that they have final approval and editing. I’m a journalist and I wouldn’t accept those rules either. When I write an article, usually I do the courtesy of showing the completed print article to the subject, but NOT for their approval, but simply for them to have a chance to make any factual corrections, this is how writers work if they are pro’s. THREE cheers for Carson.
That is my 2 cents worth…

I support him for being angry about it, but I don’t support him for his baby-unprofessional attitude of posting it all over the internet. A real professional would have handled it in a more quiet way.

What’s unprofessional is his illiteracy. You’re into your late 30’s and you can’t talk properly in order to succumb to Twitter’s illiterate bunch?

I’m not a big fan of Carson Daly, but really, he interviews people then they want to edit and such in their own camps? Pop star interviews might not be heavy hitting journalism, but it’s still reporting non-the-less, and to have them basically censor the potentially moronic things Brit might say or do, well, it’s not fair to him or the show. I’m sure Britney reps requested this so they don’t have another Tom Cruise/Matt Lauer issue on their hands and prevent it before it happens, but really, if stupid things are said and done (insert Kanye West rants now) then any publicity is good publicity non? I know she is still a cash cow for them and they want to keep her making them $ and keeping them employed as long as possible for for their own self protection then good on them for doing what the Cruise reps or West reps failed to do on a few occassions. But bad on them for potentially ruining an interview for Carson and the producers. How bland and generic will it be now and the producers should sue for potential loss of ratings $.

There has been scientific proof that eat meaters are more likely to have a Vit. B12 deficiency than vegetarians or vegans. This is because of the bad quality of meat, and because the body has to use all the vitamins which are already in the body present, to digest the meat. By the way, execpt for the B12, all proteins are available in algeas like spirulina and chlorella, and wheatgrass!!!
