Catherine Zeta-Jones to make Broadway debut

Angela Lansbury/Catherine Zeta-JonesCatherine Zeta-Jones, 39, who recently moved to New York City with her husband, Michael Douglas, has been cast alongside Angela Lansbury, 83, in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, to be directed by Trevor Nunn. The musical, which is based on the Ingmar Bergman film Smiles of a Summer Night, is set in Sweden at the turn of the century. Lansbury will play Madame Armfeldt and Zeta-Jones will play her daughter, Desiree Armfeldt, who sings the famous song “Send in the Clowns.” The musical will open in December at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

    interesting pairing, really like Lansbury, would have enjoyed opportunity to see this one…

    Jeeze, Michael Jackson should have just skipped the valium, lorazepam, propofol…and just went to see musicals such as this. He would have gotten very well rested! 😀
