Catherine Zeta-Jones, 39, who recently moved to New York City with her husband, Michael Douglas, has been cast alongside Angela Lansbury, 83, in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, to be directed by Trevor Nunn. The musical, which is based on the Ingmar Bergman film Smiles of a Summer Night, is set in Sweden at the turn of the century. Lansbury will play Madame Armfeldt and Zeta-Jones will play her daughter, Desiree Armfeldt, who sings the famous song “Send in the Clowns.” The musical will open in December at the Walter Kerr Theatre.
