The emotionally driven Connor Oberst of Bright Eyes returns with his second offering Cassadaga. Fans can expect Oberst’s diary of travels revealed, accompanied with spectacular orchestras gloriously peppered throughout, such as in the Beatlesesque opener “Clairaudients (Kill or Be Killed).” Mixing what sometimes seems to be a bit country (“Four Winds”) with rock (“Hot Knives”), Oberst makes this one cool psychedelic experience as usual. –Toni-Marie Ippolito
