Celebrities were out in full force for Watchmen‘s Hollywood premiere last night at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. In attendance were the stars of the show, including Malin Akerman, Jackie Earle Haley, Patrick Wilson, Carla Gugino and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, as well as Superman Returns‘ Brandon Routh, Jesse Metcalfe, Twilight‘s Billy Burke, Taken‘s Maggie Grace, and Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical 3: Senior Year. “Most studio produced movies based on comic books fulfill a very recognizable expectation,” Billy Crudup, who plays Dr. Manhattan, told Entertainment Tonight. “It’s nice to discover something that is so interested in telling a different version of the story, so I just wanted to be a part of that.” Watchmen, the biggest R-rated movie (rated 18-A in most of Canada) opening in history, debuts in theaters this Friday.
