Celebrity diet causes weight gain

Celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow have switched to a gluten-free diet, which contains no wheat, barley or rye. However, Tanya Thomas, a food expert with the British Dietetic Association, says: “People assume that by cutting out gluten they are going to lose weight. It’s a myth.” In fact, health experts say cutting out gluten — a protein found in wheat, rye and barley — can cause not only weight gain, but fatigue, headaches and a nutrition deficiency. Miley, who was called anorexic by fans on Twitter, fought back by saying, “For everyone calling me anorexic, I have a gluten and lactose allergy. It’s not about weight it’s about health. Gluten is crap anyway! Everyone should try no gluten for a week! The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing. You won’t go back!” In contrast, when Lady Gaga wants to lose weight, she adopts a vegetarian diet. ~ Luxy Hariharan
