Channing Tatum bringing Magic Mike to Broadway

By Tribute on July 25, 2013 | 7 Comments

Channing Tatum, 33, will be adapting Magic Mike, his semi-autobiographical story about a group of male strippers, into a Broadway musical. On his official website, Channing announced: “You knew you were getting a sequel, but now you’ll also soon be able to check out the LIVE stage version … of Magic Mike, The Musical! Your favorite sexy male stripper story is hitting the stage and bringing with it the best of Broadway.” Tatum and his partner Reid Carolin are set to produce, alongside the film’s director Steven Soderbergh and co-producers Gregory Jacobs and Nick Wechsler. The script will be penned by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with music by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey. Channing did not confirm whether he would be recreating the role he played in the movie onstage. ~Alfonso Espina

Wasn’t the movie bad enough? Why bring it to Broadway? It sucked!

The movie wasn’t that bad. Besides, he is just riding the wave after hitting number 2 on Forbes highest paid list. Milk it!

This is pretty much going to be a strip club transported to a Broadway stage. I think the musical is unnecessary, just focus on making a sequel.

Melissa, very accurately put. I agree.

Forget Broadway and forget the sequel…just go straight to porn. Celebrating sleaze is not art.

I see bring on the sequel. I have no complaints. Work it Channing!
