Charlie Sheen’s crazy radio rant shuts down his show

By Alexandra Heilbron on February 25, 2011 | 15 Comments

Following Charlie Sheen‘s 18-minute rant yesterday on radio’s Alex Jones Show, in which he insulted numerous people including Two and a Half Men creator/writer Chuck Lorre, CBS shut down production of the show. “Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of ‘Two and a Half Men’ for the remainder of the season,” they said in a statement released just hours after Sheen’s radio interview. During the interview, Sheen said a number of shocking things that demonstrate the magnitude of his self-importance, including: “I’ve got magic. I’ve got poetry in my fingertips. Most of the time – and this includes naps – I’m an F-18, bro. And I will destroy you in the air.” About Lorre, he said: “There’s something this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine – yeah, that’s Chuck’s real name – mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy, bro,” Sheen said in the radio rant. (Lorre’s given name is Charles Michael Levine). “I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that this un-evolved mind cannot process… And the gratitude I get is [that] this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write.”  He also called Alcoholics Anonymous a “bootleg cult,” saying, “I have a disease? Bullshit. I cured it . . . with my mind. . . I can’t use the word ‘sober’ because that’s a term from those people, and I have cleansed myself. I have closed my eyes and in a nanosecond, I cured myself. . . . It’s just the work of sissies. The only thing I’m addicted to right now is winning. You know? This bootleg cult arrogantly referred to as A.A. now supports a 5 percent success rate. My success rate is 100 percent. Do the math! One of their stupid mottoes is, ‘Don’t be special, be one of us.’ News flash: I am special and I will never be one of you. . . . I’m going to hang out with these two smokin’ hotties and fly privately around the world.” After the announcement regarding the show being put on hold for the rest of the season, Sheen wrote a note to TMZ, calling Lorre “a contaminated little maggot” and said he had defeated “this earthworm with my words – imagine what I would have done with my fire-breathing fists.”

If only he could channel this rant raving energy to learn to respect the life and opportunities he has been given as well as the people in his life…

Does he honestly think he can beat alcoholism with his mind? I wish it was that simple Charlie, I really do. Good luck to you. No way this guy makes it to 50 with this lifestyle.

See I think his dad was able to see what he was doing to himself as a bad thing and stop. Clearly Charlie because he is still successful and making a large sum of money doesn’t see that he has hit rock bottom. I think that the show ditching him and then other projects not hiring him will assist in him realizing that he is on a quick decent towards killing himself.

Some people shouldn’t have money or fame.

Let’s see how cocky he is when he finally hits bottom. Just a matter of time.

This guy deserves to loose everything he has in his life. I wish the worst for him. And i honestly have never wished anything bad on anyone in my life. His mind is so diluted.

Yes, it starts in the mind and gets cured in the mind. If one doesn’t have control/discipline in the mind, then how do you expect to cure it. A myth circulating in the last few yr.’s is: you can’t cure an alcoholic. I totally disagree. I’ve known people who have quit things and Never indulged in them again!

Another thing is I’ve known people who can go back to drinking and Never be a drunk again! Everyone is different. What applies to 1 person may not apply to another person.

I agree with above posters — he needs to be out of work for a long time. He gives hundreds of thousands of dollars to escorts and drugs every week, he’ll blow through his money in no time flat. It would be a great wake up call for him to see that no, he’s not special, he’s just a person like anyone else and that he should appreciate the things he had but threw away.

Robert Downey was in this same position just a short time ago, thank heavens he finally pulled his head out of his ass and woke up.Charlie Sheens head might be buried just a little to deeply in his own ass to re surface any time soon.

I don’t think Robert Downey Jr. ever had such an inflated ego. And today he is very self-effacing.

Charlie Sheen sounds mentally ill in his ranting, almost schizophrenic in his grandiose thinking.

This man is clearly not well….he seems manic in disposition. When I saw him on TV this morning, it looked like he hadn’t slept in a week and needed a shower. Very unkempt. His family must be besides themselves…

I have heard worse I guess he pissed off the wrong people but as a fan it wasn’t so bad 😉

The number of games on the calendar is scary, said Guardiola, whose team will add the Club World Cup to its domestic and European competitions this season.
