Cher angers Australians

If I could turn back time, if I could find a way,’ is a phrase from one of Cher’s popular songs in the late ’80s. However, these lyrics are more than words to a tune — it is probably exactly what Cher is thinking after upsetting an entire city in Australia. In 1990, mayor Steve Condous presented Cher with the key to Adelaide, Australia. With great pleasure Cher accepted the key but now it has surfaced on eBay and is being sold. On April 19th the brass key, which is attached to a plaque and engraved, appeared on eBay on Cher’s personal account. When word got out that Cher was selling her key, Condous expressed his anger, saying, “I’m disappointed. I would have thought that getting the key to a city like Adelaide would have had some value to her, but obviously it doesn’t because she wouldn’t have got rid of it.” Bidding started at the low price of $125 but was sold on the 24th for almost $96 thousand. For her part, Cher is claiming it was a mistake. On the 23rd, in response to a fan in regards to the key being sold, Cher posted via Twitter, “I’m upset 2& trying 2get2 bottom! I think my office fkd up?” ~Krystin Edgerton

I was reviewing her Twitter feed, and quite honestly the women sounds rude! She probably meant to sell it, and now that she has been caught she needs to play the ‘poor me’ card.

If its going to Charity then i could see it as a good thing. Otherwise its kind of a slap in the face. You can insult Australia but im sure they will get over it.
