Cheryl Cole gets Xtra confidence

Cheryl Cole claims working on The X Factor has made her “more confident.” The Girls Aloud star is unsure whether she will be offered a job on the US version of Simon Cowell’s show and she is still “shocked” by her success as a judge on the UK version of the pop star TV talent search. She said: “Frankly, it has come as a shock to me. It is a really scary thing. Why would they give it to me? They don’t know me and I’ve got this heavy Newcastle accent. My turn on the UK show may have blinded the nation. By sitting in the judge’s hot seat I began to feel a change in myself. I just became more confident. For me, this was about conquering a new fear of doing something by myself. I don’t even know where I found the nerve to do it. When I waltzed into that room for the first time, I was honestly thinking, ‘What am I doing here?’ “
