Chevy Chase returns to new Vacation film

By Tribute on April 2, 2013 | 6 Comments

Talks for a new Vacation film appear to be going ahead. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo will reprise their original roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold. Their son, Rusty (previously played by Ethan Embry in Vegas Vacation), played by Ed Helms (The Hangover), visits them on a pit stop with his wife (Christina Applegate) and family while on a vacation that goes terribly wrong. Chase and D’Angelo initially weren’t sure if they wanted to return, but a recent draft of the script convinced them. Writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein will also direct the film, which starts shooting this summer for a 2014 release. They were also behind the works of the recent comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and the Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs sequel, set to release September 27, 2013. ~E. Guevarra

Why is it always the same parents every movie, but different kids?

LOL so true. The guy from The Hangover is in it, we’ll just have to wait and see how funny this film will be.

Hey Jeff, kids grow up and perhaps don’t want to act any more or have previous commitments, as do the adults.

Just when you thought they didn’t make worthwhile films anymore…

The adults are in every movie though. And even back when the original kids would’ve still been kids, they switched them. The first couple of movie were only two years apart, but they hired new kids, about the same ages as the first two. Maybe that’s supposed to be part of the gag.

If you look up the show it gives Chevy a chance in every film to yell where are the kids by their names and say there you are I can hardly recognize you anymore… It’s a running gag.
PLEASE be better than Vegas vacation! Make it like Christmas vacation and we will all be happier.
