Chloe Grace Moretz is ‘incredibly straight-laced’

At only 16, Kick-Ass 2 actress Chloë Grace Moretz is mature beyond her years. Although her bad ass Hit Girl character is a potty-mouth, crime-fighting superhero, Chloë is keeping a good girl image to avoid being another “Lindsay Lohan.” Covering the May issue of Nylon, she shares how “incredibly straight-laced” she is compared to “what some 16-year-olds are doing.” She’s had several opportunities where she could have been drinking or done drugs but chose not to. “I look around me and go, ‘God’s put me here for a reason. Why would I want to take a drug or do something that can strip away everything I’ve worked for?’ This business is not peaches and cream, and I’ve fought tooth and nail to earn this spot. I’m not a girl who’s ridden on a last name or lucked into it from getting on one project that blows up. I worked for 11 years, and I have to keep working, too, because if I sat back on my haunches right now, I could disappear within a month.” Nonetheless, Chloë is just a “normal” teen “who’s no different from my friends.” At her age, she’s already starred with celebrities such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt in (500) Days of Summer and Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows. Now, the spotlight is all on her as she’ll be starring in the remake of Carrie. Chloë opened up about how on set, she was Carrie all the time because she wanted to stay in the dark space of that character all day. “It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, but it was one of the darkest, and I’m terrified to see the movie because it’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been.” ~E.
