Christina Applegate cancer-free after double mastectomy

Christina ApplegateShortly after announcing she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Christina Applegate now says she is completely cancer-free after receiving treatment. “I’m clear,” Applegate told Good Morning America on Tuesday. “Absolutely 100 percent clear and clean. It did not spread.” The Samantha Who? star underwent a double mastectomy to rid herself of cancer—a decision that was painful, but unavoidable, for the actress. Applegate will undergo reconstructive surgery over the next year, and she’s looking forward to the new cleavage she’ll proudly wear. “I’m going to have cute boobs until I’m 90,” she jokes. “I’m going to have the best boobs in the nursing home.” Applegate’s ordeal has inspired her to use her celebrity status as leverage for the cause, and on September 5th, the actress will appear on Stand Up to Cancer, a televised fundraiser that will air on ABC, CBS and NBC.

Hard decision, but good one…only real option.
Wonder why she’s bothering to have the reconstruction done?
