Christina Applegate and Lee GrivasChristina Applegate is heartbroken after learning of the death of her on-again/off-again boyfriend, 26-year-old Lee Grivas. The aspiring young photographer, who was found Tuesday in his Hollywood apartment, died of an apparent heroin overdose. The cause of death is being ruled as a possible accident or suicide. A statement from Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles coroner’s office indicates that drug use is the likely cause of death. “Grivas did have a history of drug abuse, and our investigator found a syringe on the scene.” Applegate released a statement to OK! magazine saying: “I am profoundly saddened. Lee was an incredible human being who was an extremely important and beautiful part of my life.” The Samantha Who? star began dating Grivas after her 2007 divorce to actor Jonathon Schaech.

A story like this kinda makes a person wonder why Applegate even has or had a relationship with a heroin user could it possibly be that she has a problem with it as well.. Or maybe that’s why the relationship was so on again off again maybe she couldn’t deal with his habbit.. it’s really to bad either way thou for someone still so young die’s from an evil demon..

An off again on again relationship can be pretty depressing and being a photographer in hollywood is probably a stressful job…but I don’t believe there is any excuse to use drugs especially hard core drugs like heroin…I hear you get dependent on it but if you know you have a problem ,get help…

Let’s show some basic human decency here; the young man had an adiction problem and is now dead. Most of these problems have a medical basis: an overwhelming need to comsume or indulge in behavior that is not healthy. He needed help, not condemnation. Criticizing him now will achieve nothing. His girlfriend deserves sympathy for trying to help him with his prioblem. “There, but for the grace of God, go I”; no, I am not a religious fanatic.

A Tragedy indeed. Drug use in Hollywood is quite common-place. Sometimes heroin users hide behind their addiction by passing it off to their loved ones as an addiction to some other more socially acceptable drug, as there are many… It’s a shame, really.

It’s awful that he died. He had an addiction he couldn’t get rid of and it ended up killing him! We should be giving Christina support. Even if it was an on again off again relationship, he meant alot to her.

I wasen’t condeming or criticizing him I was just saying that if you know you have a problem with substance abuse you probably don’t enjoy it but can not stop doing it than you should get some help and hopefully recover…and I do sympathize for Christina…I’m sure she loved him which is why the relationship was on again off again…but it’s hard to see a loved one go through that especially when you can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped…

maybe he didn’t know it yet ever thought of that? maybe he was still in the denial stage ever thought of that?

Ok, I just know that everyone is going to FREAK when they hear this one but, I have to voice my opinion…can’t hold it in any longer! I say the world is better off without the junkie! I also think she is a nut case and I thought she was smarter than her dumb@$$ character on Married With Children – but I guess I was wrong!

mlm…I’m not B*tching I’m stating my opinion about drug addiction…maybe if you read my comments carefully I’m not putting him down…I am aware he’s dead…and I said I sympathize…I was symply saying and I’ll say it again for you to understand…if you have a problem get help before it’s too late…

Exactly. Then again…I hate to agree with mlm because mlm sounds a bit callus, but Lee could have been in the early stages where the didn’t realize it was an addiction, where he thought he still had control over it all. Or could have been in the denial stage.
But as was stated, yes, everybody knows he is dead, everybody is just stating their feelings and offering condolences, etc. So chill out, mlm!
