Colin Farrell accidentally disses new movie

Colin Farrell seemed to accidentally diss his new movie, upcoming horror remake Fright Night, in front of thousands of theater owners this week at the annual CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas. In it, he plays a as a vicious vampire who moves to the suburbs. The 34-year-old Irish actor admitted he was a big fan of the 1985 original, saying, “I heard they were remaking Fright Night and went, ‘Ah, god, remake! Hollywood, so dull!’ And I read the script and really hoped I didn’t like it, and I did. It was fun.” But then he went on to add something that had even his sister thumping her forehead, later telling him “D’oh.” He informed the audience, “I don’t think I’ll have a copy of this version in my library, but I have the original at home,” which got nervous laughs from the audience. “And since [the old film] still exists, maybe this film will bring that film to a whole new audience and maybe some fans of the original, like myself, can enjoy this one as well.” When Entertainment Weekly later asked what he meant, he said, “Yeah, I knew that would be picked up! What I meant was [I wouldn’t own it] because I’m in the f—ing thing!” He explained that he hates to watch himself in movies, because it makes him cringe. “It’s always uncomfortable,” he admitted.
