It’s a hard knock life for Rihanna. In 2009, ex-boyfriend and singer Chris Brown beat the Barbadian beauty mercilessly. Police officials Rebecca Mendez Reyes and Blanca Estrella Lopez leaked photos of the alleged beating. Although there’s proof Reyes took a picture of the original photo with her phone, emailed it to her work computer and then to her personal email and Lopez called TMZ four times that day, County District Attorney Amy Pellman Pentz concluded they will not be charged. “No additional evidence suggests that Reyes or Lopez provided this photograph to TMZ,” wrote Pentz in a report. “The investigation reveals that several other LAPD personnel also possessed this photograph. Moreover, a search of Reyes’ and Lopez’s bank accounts failed to locate any payment by any media outlet. As such, although both Reyes and Lopez’s actions are suspicious, they are insufficient to support a criminal prosecution.” While the two officers – who were suspended during the investigation – got off the hook criminally, the may not be keeping their jobs for much longer. According to the Los Angeles Times, LAPD officials have set a disciplinary hearing for both officers in August, which could lead them to unemployment. ~Graeme Mollison
