Cory Monteith’s name spelled wrong in Grammy tribute

Could someone get fired for the embarrassing on-screen mistake during Sunday night’s Grammy awards? Metro News writer Mike Morrison thinks so. Departed Glee actor Cory Monteith was honored with a mention in the In Memoriam montage alongside the likes of Lou Reed and Phil Everly, but his last name was misspelled as “Montieth.” Canadian blogger Morrison noticed it and took a shot of the typo, which he then posted on Twitter: “Cory Monteith’s name was spelled incorrectly. Someone’s getting fired. #grammys.” Fans of the late actor and singer, who died as a result of a drug and alcohol overdose, took notice of the blunder and also expressed their thoughts on Twitter. The late Cory Monteith is no stranger to the Grammy Awards, having been honored with multiple nominations for his work on Glee before his tragic death on July 13, 2013. ~Yara Matar

Maybe the one preparing the visual deck was paying tribute by drinking/pill’ing it up while they were working?
