Cowell says Spears’ career is over

Simon CowellSimon Cowell told British paper The Sun that Britney Spears may have sunk her career Sunday night at the MTV awards, and if she were a contestant on American Idol, she would have been eliminated after that performance. Spears performed in a lackluster way, messing up the lyrics while lip synching her new song, “Gimme More.” “She wasn’t ready for that show in every possible way,” Cowell told the paper. “The song wasn’t right, the image wasn’t right and she just wasn’t rehearsed. The problem she has now is that she could have killed her career. It’s difficult to come back from that performance, for a while at least.”

Cowell’s entire career is based on judging amateurs; his “opinion” means nothing.

Cowell WISHES “American Idol” could afford an appearance by Britney!!! Loser!

He’s a spazz, rarely has anything good to say. I didn’t see the “performance”, but I’d say she’s been pretty consistant with what she delivers (crappy music in tight clothing), and Simon should try it for himself since he knows what makes one a SUPASTA!

I think Simon Cowell is awesome!!! He is always completely 100% accurate with the contestants on AIdol. Britney is a loser and a moron and her career is OVER!!!!!!!!

There will still be morons lining up to buy her stuff. you just wish it was over, but as long as there are morons and people who eat up whatever the tabloids and press throws at them, she’ll be fine. I’m just worried about you, Nikki and Marry.
    ONPREAPED? PEFERENCE? GOOD GRIEF MAN!!

I’d like to see Simon do better. Oh right, he doesn’t perform, he just criticizes those who do…

Simon Cowell introduced Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken to the world stage; obviously, he can’t be trusted.

I totaly agree with Simon. What happened at the MTV awards was awful. I’m sure that a lot of people would want her to perform again.

    To be honest, I don’t.

If everything had gone right for Britney would we still be talking about her performance a week later? Doubtful. Britney understands the game and this will keep people buzzing until her new album is released.

I am sorry but why would she not know that she should be prepared for such a show? Look at the people who were there. Obviously you have to be a 100% ready and then some. I do not think she is ready to come back. She’s alright, not my taste in music but she used to be good. I think too much pressure from everyone and anyone brought her down. Just like all those other young stars who are screwing up, you will find your way back when you are ready. Even if you aren’t, you are set for life anyway.
