Crowe to star in Robin Hood

Russell Crowe will star in a remake of Robin Hood, but not as the outlaw. He’ll play the Sheriff of Nottingham in the Universal Pictures film Nottingham, which features a love triangle between Robin Hood, Maid Marion and the Sheriff. Production is scheduled to begin next year for a 2009 release.
