Curtis talks about plastic surgery “conspiracy”

Jamie Lee Curtis, who’s currently starring in the new movie You Again, believes there is a “conspiracy” in Hollywood to make actresses have cosmetic surgery. The 51-year-old star thinks it’s wrong that so many older actresses feel under pressure to change their appearance to try and keep working in the movie business. She says: “Everybody is saying that to get jobs you have to dye your hair and get injectables. It’s a conspiracy, a complete catastrophe, a surgical industrial complex. Somehow we are being fed this belief that to continue on we have to do this. Yet people are being disfigured. It’s shocking what people are doing to their faces.” Curtis is adamant she will never go under the knife. She added in an interview with AARP The Magazine: “I’m getting my a*s out of this business in a few years because genetically it’s not going to work for me. There are people who, when you see them on the screen, there’s an audible gasp of, ‘Oh my God. They look terrible.’ Or they’ve done something to themselves and now look like freaks. There is only one Meryl Streep and one Sigourney Weaver. But I could name 30 other actresses in their (age) groups who aren’t working today.”

It is easy to say when you look like her. Not much to change there.

I remember hearing someone saying they had one procedure done a few years ago and regretted it, and will never have another, I thought it was Jamie Lee? Can’t quite remember who it was. Anyway, I’m really glad she isn’t changing herself for Hollywood, shows that she’s secure in who she is.

what does she mean “genetically it’s not going to work for me”??? explanation anyone? wierd comment…

women who choose to remain grey always have to make a big deal about it – so you like sporting grey hair? fine. some others obviously don’t. also fine.

Personally, I prefer when people dye their hair. Grey hair makes people look so old, even when they’re not. When I go grey, I’ll for sure dye it.

I think grey is distinguished! Why hide it?

love the winking guy, mandee, nice touch!!! are you grey, andie? just wondering…

I agree on many men it is distinguished, only a few women I have seen can carry it off, almost always prefer non-grey, particularly on those under 70….

maybe it’s because on the majority non-celebrity grey women I’ve noted, the grey hair seems to contribute to an overall non-caring frumpy appearance….

naw I’m not grey yet – just prefer a natural look!

I am all for natural, agree!!!! but draw my line at frumpy…
