Daniel Radcliffe says his gay scenes aren’t graphic

By Tribute News on October 18, 2013 | 5 Comments

Daniel Radcliffe stars as poet Allen Ginsberg in the new dramatic biopic Kill Your Darlings, and admits his preparation for the role in many ways was ''already done" because he was portraying a real person. Speaking at the premiere during London Film Festival Thursday night, he said: ''I had two months, I think, to prepare the role. So I used all that time but I had never played a real person before, a historical figure. So, in a lot of ways it's a blessing because a lot of the work is already done for you. So you just have to go back and read it.'' The Harry Potter star previously warned his fans may find some aspects of the movie surprising - particularly his gay sex scenes - although he insisted the intimate moments are more ''beautiful and tender'' than ''graphic.'' He recently explained: ''It's actually not graphic. You don't actually see anything. What's graphic is the emotion of the scene. It's a very vulnerable, slightly afraid moment. It's beautiful and tender as a consequence of that.''

I don’t necessarily believe Daniel is gay. However, men who choose to do gay roles make me wonder. Because for however long they’re performing that role on the set, they actually have to believe they’re gay. Not that it matters, because I absolutely adore him, straight or gay. But it makes me wonder.

That makes absolutely no sense, Joanne. It’s basically the same as wondering if Michael C. Hall is or wants to be a serial killer because of his role on Dexter, or if Orlando Bloom actually thinks he’s an elf because of choosing to play Legolas.

No, I see what she’s saying. If you play a serial killer, you don’t actually have to kill someone. But playing a gay, you have to show some guy affection and depending on the script, kiss him and possibly make out. Enjoyable if you’re gay, probably somewhat uncomfortable if you’re not. There’s no discomfort playing an elf. Especially one who likes girls.

I wanna be a bow and arrow weilding, giant elephant killing heroic elf now too!
