Daniel Radcliffe wants to get married

Growing up in front of the whole world makes child actors grow up a little bit faster than their peers. At just 21, Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) has already gone through his “crazy” party phase and is looking foward to settling down. He says when he was living the wild life: “My inner life was being drowned. I’ve worked with Richard Harris, Gary Oldman, all those actors who went crazy when they were young, and I always wanted that. The idea of that kind of life and chaos was always so appealing to me. Unfortunately, the way I do it, there is no romance to it. There is nothing glorious or triumphant about it — it was pathetic, boring, and unhappy.” Daniel, who’s been in a steady relationship with girlfriend Rosie Coker for two years, told Parade magazine he wants to get married now that he’s found someone he wants to spend the rest of his life with, saying, “I want to get married. When growing up, I thought of marriage as being very official, drawing up a contract. It seemed slightly clinical to me. But then you meet somebody that you really love and you think, ‘Actually, I wouldn’t mind standing up in front of my friends and family and telling them how much I love you and that I want to be with you forever.'” Daniel’s first starring film role since Harry Potter concluded is The Woman in Black, which opens February 3rd.

I remember being 15 and wanting to have a daughter, but then I saw all the girls around me and thought, man are they sluts – no way do I want to marry any of them who throw themselves at guys. At 29 I’ve kept myself single because I’m not ready to settle down, but it seems that Daniel is ready and he’s financially got himself secured enough to take care himself and a family. No one is every young or impatient to make a decision if they know the consequences and are prepared to handle them every step of the way.

Yeah, he is too young to get married in my opinion too! Wait a few more years. There’s this interview with him where he goes into more detail.

True – settling down with someone just because you’re “crap at dating” really isn’t a good idea. I’m surprised Ms. Coker hasn’t realized that. He should get good at dating, decide he’d rather have someone who’s goal is not to change him (lack of domestic skills), and find her.
