Demi Lovato OD drugs likely laced with deadly fentanyl

By Alexandra Heilbron on August 16, 2018 | 35 Comments

Demi Lovato InstagramSources have come forward to tell exactly what happened on the night that Demi Lovato overdosed at her home in California.

They told gossip site TMZ.com that at about 4 a.m., on July 24, Demi texted her drug dealer, Brandon Johnson, 31, to come to her house. He did and the two of them “freebased Oxycodone on tin foil.”

The sources say Demi was unaware that Johnson had a tendency of buying “dirty” drugs from Mexico. The drugs were laced with fentanyl, the same drug that killed Prince. When Demi began to have trouble breathing, the dealer left.

Demi’s assistant found her unconscious in bed at 11:30 a.m., and at first glance, feared she was dead. Paramedics were called and administered Narcan, a drug that reverses opiate overdoses if administered in time. Luckily, she survived, even though it’s believed she had more than one drug in her system following a night of heavy partying and drug use.

After a two-week hospitalization, Demi went to a rehab center and also spent several days in Chicago, where she received addiction and mental health treatment. ~Alexandra Heilbron

PATHETIC !!!!!! And who should feel sorry for these morons ????
Play with fire, guess what, you can get burned !!
I feel sorry for the kids that think this thing is a role model.
Where are all the decent, hard working, normal people ?
The ones that don’t do drugs, the ones that are worthy of kids looking up to them ?
Law enforcement and media are always blaming drugs cartels and the like for the drug “CRISIS” ???
If there was no demand for the garbage, there would be no drug dealers, DUH !!
These people do it to themselves, I don’t feel sorry for them in the slightest.
Some of these people have far far more than the innocent kids that think they are role models. Yet, they choose to be moron flakes.
You get what you deserve. Later !!

I so agree with Derek. These “stars” do work hard to get where they are. I have a hard time believing that young kids look up to them. Come on, get off the drugs, better still, don’t get on them. They will kill you

  3. Judy • August 16, 2018 @ 11:02 AM

wow. You must be perfect. How sad.

  4. paul • August 16, 2018 @ 11:06 AM

Glad she survived. Wish her well!

I agree with Derek as well. And interestingly, I read they’re now using fentanyl in capitol punishment cases to execute prisoners. So why are people like this spoiled celebrity calling providers of this drug to come to their house and feed it to them? He had $10,000 on him when arrested later. I wonder if that was what she paid him. What a waste of money and a waste of her mind. There’s no way that pushing crap drugs into your brain doesn’t destroy it each time. Anyone who buys her records, attends her concerts is basically just giving money to her so she can give it to drug dealers. If you have an conscience, don’t waste your money like that. Give it to people who are trying to save the environment or starving children or anything else.

WHEN YOUR AN ADDICT AND BIPOLAR YOU SOMETIME DONT MAKE THE DBEST DECISION STOP JUDGEING HER SHE HAS AMENTAL ILLNESS…UNTIL YOU HAVE WALKED IN HER SHOES DONT JUDGE HER JUST BECAUSE SHE SFAMOUS DOESNT MAKE HER HUMAN …

    Drugs are bad, m’kay?

  8. Mi • August 16, 2018 @ 11:50 AM

May she have another HEAVY PARTY and this time REALLY die…
One less to look up to…

  9. CDubya • August 16, 2018 @ 11:59 AM

SERIOUSLY!?!? She’s all growed up and knows drugs are bad. Yes she started when she was young, but we all learn right form wrong. In all the cities she visits, I’m sure she saw drugged out people and part of her brain should have kicked in that she didn’t want to end up like that. Then again, I’m sure part of her brain thought, she would just never turn into that cause hey, I’m pretty and popular and talented.
As a roll model, her publicist will now say she learned her lesson and sought help, so kids will forgive her. Ummm that’s not good enough. Drugs will always linger in her mind and she will have to fight that crave daily. Kids: Keep your roll models at a distance.

Seems like many don’t understand the hardships of addiction. Making an assumption about someone’s own dealings with it makes you no better than the dealer she got the drugs from.

  11. Michael Gaudet • August 16, 2018 @ 1:16 PM

You make the decision to try drugs. No sympathy for them..costing us millions in dollars to treat these losers. Less drug users the better.

  12. Terry • August 16, 2018 @ 1:24 PM

Evidently she has more money than brains. What little brain she has, she’s burning out with her stupid drugs. I’m echoing Derek’s sentiments here. For anything to become an addiction you have to be stupid enough to try drugs in the first place — it isn’t like anyone goes into it blind these days — everyone knows what will happen but they go into it anyway. Especially the rich — they know they can financially afford to buy the drugs. No sympathy here from me either, not for her, not for any of the druggies.

  13. Tony • August 16, 2018 @ 1:58 PM

Thank you Judy for your passive aggressive do nothing attitude. You’re the kind of person who never takes responsibility for anything and doesn’t want to tell anyone what the right thing to do in any situation because you don’t want to get involved. Good luck to your kids.

  14. David • August 16, 2018 @ 2:20 PM

All these “burned out stars” are always either bipolar, or they were sexually abused, or physically abused, abandoned, terrified by someone else, have image problems, etc., etc.
There’s always an excuse for justifying their disgusting habits. I don’t know how they could start a career in something with all those problems.
On the other hand there are some others, their loyal fans, that follow them no matter what. Hollow brains, with no purpose in life other than adore famous rich people without any integrity. It is very possible they share the same addictions because this singer or that actress have them too. Just because it is cool to be like them.
I’m sure that if someone asked her to jump from the roof of the Empire State building, she wouldn’t do it because she knows she will be picked up from the asphalt with a spatula. Another thing is partying and doing drugs all the time because all the money she has. Bipolar by convenience, and drug addict by choice.

  15. Gerry • August 16, 2018 @ 2:41 PM

We all make our choices in life. Some are stronger then others when it comes to the pressures of everyday life.
I think that if you’re calling a dealer to come over to your home for drugs that there should be a stiffer penalty for the caller/user other then some rehab and a apology. If we are all equal then why are celebrities treated differently?

She should be stripped of her status and serve time like everyone else.

  16. Joan Junkie • August 16, 2018 @ 2:42 PM

what a waste of a telented and beautiful young woman…
I hope you succeed in your fight against drugs and alcohol.
    .

  17. Mi • August 16, 2018 @ 2:50 PM

NICELY said Tony and David. I agree and think like you.
RESPONSIBILITY…. it is a big word, that is meaningless for the young generation… so much easier to blame abusive parents or siblings.

  18. David • August 16, 2018 @ 3:48 PM

What bothers me the most is how some people are treated differently by the law. If a poor black guy is caught either doing or selling drugs, it is arrested immediately and sent to jail without any consideration of his life.
Maybe I’m wrong or misinformed but using or selling drugs is illegal, isn’t it?. So, why doesn’t she go to jail? So fancy!! She has on her payroll a driver, a cook,a plastic surgeon, a celebrity lawyer, an agent, a PR agent and….a drug dealer. She’s an enabler of the drug traffic but nothing happens. After all, she’s a star!
Meanwhile, a working mom has a job, two kids and a house to look after. She drives, cooks and doesn’t have any agents. Educates her children and try to provide for them with her hard work from 8 to 5. And I wonder how much she has to work in order to have the $10,000 that she paid to her “personal drug dealer”
Suppose that in an unfortunate day this woman, overwhelmed by all her responsibilities, forgets the dog in the car, and then a mob of PETA sympathizers, do good celebrities and their worshipers will try to crucify her. And then she goes to jail without too much consideration. After all, she’s not a star !!! But these women are the real stars in this twisted society.

  19. Debbie • August 16, 2018 @ 6:06 PM

Drugs are drugs. The law is the law. Stupidity is stupidity. But…not for all. Unfortunately. I am proud of the comments here. I have always said no. Enough in life to deal with. Being real and yourself is best!

It’s amusing how many of you have such strong opinions on how other people choose to live their lives. What makes you think your opinion matters so much. Lol. Secondly who are you ??!?! I’ll tell you…prob the same people who always feel they can do someone else’s occupation better or have an opinion on how they can do theirs better by your standards because you can do it better right? Lol. Please stick to your min wage 8-5 jobs! Most of your responses honestly show just how imperfect you actually are. ??. Get a life, find a relationship, have sex! You all definitely need it excluding a couple responders! As a comedian I will honestly say…no one gives a ?? about your responses. Your nothing more than a critic with NO experience in what your critiqueing! We don’t work for you…nor do we or anyone really outside of maybe your immediate family cares about what you think! I’m sure everyone who doesn’t fit your high standards appreciates your opinions on their life!

She has bipolar disorder. The majority of you have no idea what it’s like to handle a manic episode, the disease itself and stay healthy. It’s not an easy task. If you follow treatment you’re as normal as everyone else. It’s a sickness just like Cancer, AIDS or anything else and must be seen as such. Nobody here has considered the fact that mental illness and substance abuse often go hand in hand. A lot of people with bipolar and other mental health issues self-medicate with illegal drugs to either dull what the illness is doing. Worst of all if they like the high feeling and feeling of omnipotence and they can do anything that mania brings they’ll take drugs to get back there. I think Demi’s problem isn’t all to blame on drugs but on the fact she’s not managing a mental illness and taking it seriously enough. ANYONE can be addicted to just about anything. You shouldn’t judge the person or debate the reason they are because you’ve never been there. It’s easier said than done to stop. You may not agree with their actions but having compassion the same level you would want is a good thing. Most people who haven’t been in either problem just won’t get it unless they or someone they know is and then their stance will change.

  23. David • August 16, 2018 @ 9:38 PM

First it is the drugs and after you are hooked on them, then come the problems. Just say no, find a treatment for your disorder (if there really is one) and that’s it.
Anyone of all you understanding people has noticed how many bipolars, lactose and gluten intolerants you find nowadays?
Dear Faron, sorry for hurting your sensiblities about your dear Demi. And yes, there are hundreds of millions like me that earn a minimum wage. Maybe we don’t have as much money as you have but we have decency and integrity.
These millions also enjoy good sex and have real relationships, no fake ones. So, please go shave your legs!
Your Demi has all the right to choose how to live her life, but just do it and stop making a show of your life and begging for people’s pity when you’re up to the eyes with all those drugs.
And no, you don’t work for me. My meager paycheque cannot afford your services (which ones you offer, I don’t know and I’m not interested)
By the way, I never thought that my opinion matters to anyone. After all, I’m just a regular guy on a minimum wage. But I got the impresision that it mattered to you, based in your comments.
And no, I have no experience in drugs. It looks like you do and a lot. About your work, Demi’s doggie pooped on the sofa. Go and pick it up, rich kid! And try to keep sober or you will end up bipolar too.

It’s so sad the so many people are so ignorant and judgmental, You dont know nothing about addiction is a horrible disease, pls inform yourself before criticized other people You dont know nothing about i,Doesn’t have nothing to do with money, race or stardom, that disease does not discriminate, and only God can help You

  27. Daniel halliday • August 17, 2018 @ 2:10 AM

The people on this comment board have no compassion for their fellow human being, she survived a traumatic event and is being treated at a rehab center. Obviously she will get the help she needs from caring people, this is why people have jobs trying to help people with her condition.

  28. Anna • August 17, 2018 @ 11:27 AM

    Hi.
I am not old and behind in to- days way of thinking but I never in all my life have heard so many story;s on why kids adults and movie stars fall into the same trap wether you have money or not still is a mind think.
Look perhaps you were from parents that was an alcholic so you did not know your family maybe you were molested etc etc you know what I mean correct??.Did any of you face the wars see children familys been blown up know !!! well How about whatching the news once in awhile and get educated.
Do you allow a cigerett to digtate to you? are you the same one who hates being told what to-do?.Then why on earth would you put yourself at risk with your life.and when you have so much talent money etc put it into some thing more creative.
I have no excuses or do I have patience for people that cannot use their heads !!!! Be a roll model for your family and friends and the world or just be Strong and say NO. To every thing that your minds says it is bad!!!!! Come on if it is one thing
that our body does know it is telling you it is bad listen to it ok,,If not do not expect people to feel sorry for you !This is any thing in life Drugs any thing Walk away you will love yourself more in a better way love to all.

  29. Drew • August 17, 2018 @ 3:38 PM

    Addiction is not a disease.

  30. Jan • August 17, 2018 @ 5:19 PM

You can get medical help for bipolar disorder…… Don’t try to treat this yourself with street drugs – not the answer……

  31. GD • August 17, 2018 @ 6:27 PM

Just so people know bipolar disorder is not and never has or will be a character flaw. Anyone can have it including you. You wouldn’t pass judgment at someone with AIDS, cancer, diabetes or anything else would you? Than don’t here. It’s an illness just like those.

  32. Lasandra Lindsay • August 18, 2018 @ 6:59 PM

Glad she survived….as for those who have something negative to say; I’m no celebrity but drugs is what killing most of them, why? Because we the fans look up to them and to us they are perfect and they shouldn’t make mistakes but guess what we are wrong they’re humans just like us so the pressure we put on these celebs to please us is what drives them to use drugs to keep up with us. Please don’t judge her guys instead let us just pray that she gets better. #ddlovato #pray4demi #fan #Demi ??????

  33. quinn • August 18, 2018 @ 7:38 PM

She needs to get the yes people out of her camp. Maybe if some people said no to her maybe she would have a fighting chance.

  34. Noreen • August 19, 2018 @ 10:12 PM

Drug use and mental illness is probably very different for each individual. If Demi is an addict , then shes an addict . It’s not a health problem that anyone can honestly say or think they know. News flash folks !! Even rich and famous people have mental.health issues too.. just like a large percentage of people in the world today. I’m happy she did not die and has decided to deal with her addiction and mental.health issues as well. These problems are often not addressed by the person affected due to fear. Fear is one of the largest and hardest feeling to recognize and deal with properly. Sure she has money and fame but she is still an individual who has problems just like everyone else. They may be extremely different ones but they are still human issues that we each have to come to terms with. I’m speaking from experience as a recovering addict that used drugs for over 40 years . It’s often not even known why you do it until you get professional help, which Demi Lovato has done. I hope she can get her addiction beat. But it’s a long and very hard journey for many. She will need all the support she can get in all of her every day life and I do wish her well. And I’m proud of her for recognizing that she is an addict and is a person who needs help. Addiction is an illness like any other but so often us addicts or recovering addicts are treated like criminals who have done some against the law. The .medical establishment is just now realizing how to treat addicts effectively so they can carryout living and recovering from this ruthless disease that affects so many of us. Opiate addiction is by far the hardest hurdle to get over but it can be done accordingly with a proper treatment plan and long term supportive treatment in place. I wish her well and I do hope she takes this OD on fentynal seriously because it she may.not be as lucky a next time. I certainly scared me straight and I hope to never be in those situations again. I love myself now and know who I truly am. Maybe she’ll find what shes really needs in life , not what she wants.

  35. Terry • August 20, 2018 @ 10:18 AM

Faron — I just can’t believe you’re a comedian as you said you were. I’m quite sure you’re not able to make a living out of it. When David told you to go shave your legs he was much funnier than you’ll ever be. Way to sock it to her David, your post was a good one. BTW Faron, — notice how I differentiate between “your and you’re”…..seems like YOU are the one who has a lot to learn. You say you’re amazed that David or anyone else would think that their opinion would matter to anyone — are you serious? You DID read all of our opinions, right?? Why? — if they don’t matter to you?? DUH! And certainly, WHY would you take the time & trouble to comment & respond to comments that matter nothing to you?? DUH!! You don’t think very clearly or make much sense — do you happen to be taking drugs? That may be exactly why you & people LIKE you get so defensive about negative comments about people who do burn up on drugs — they are able to make about as much sense as you have in your comment — which you actually MINDLESSLY posted twice. DUH!! Lots of echo’s in your head, huh?
