Demi Lovato to join The X Factor?

Maybe this will give her heart a break. Disney pop superstar Demi Lovato is in talks to join the X Factor judges panel when the series resumes taping this summer. While nothing has been confirmed, the 19-year-old is reportedly in final negotiations to take over the spot previously held by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. If made official, this could be just the project to put her career back on track after checking into a rehab facility in 2010 for help with a mental illness. She released an album last year featuring her inspirational anthem, Skyscraper, but has worked sporadically since. Lovato isn’t the only Disney starlet in the running though. Miley Cyrus is also rumored to be in contention for the coveted spot. However, OK magazine reports the network is leaning towards giving Lovato the job due to her buzzworthy tabloid escapades. Decisions should be finalized soon as the FOX singing competition is expected to begin auditions later this month. ~Kyle Sharp
