Depp afraid of karaoke

Though he just won a Golden Globe for his performance as a singing barber in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Johnny Depp told the British paper The Sun: “I’ve always been frightened of karaoke. I’ve never tried it. It scares the hell out of me. I’ve never been that drunk. I’ve been drunk but not that drunk.” As for being part of the movie musical, Depp admitted, “I really didn’t know if I could pull it off. I went into a buddy’s studio and started to record the songs to see if I could get over the initial fear.” Meanwhile, Johnny recently donated £1million (nearly US $2 million) to the London hospital where his eight-year-old daughter Lily-Rose was treated last year for a sudden illness.

Why is he afraid of karaoke? I’ve never been that drunk either (actually I have, but there has been no karaoke machine around at the time!), but I thought Johnny was up for anything.
He shouldn’t be afraid because he is an amazing singer. Anyone who has seen Sweeney Todd will agree.

You’re right, by the way – there is definitely better looking out there. I agree as well about how he speaks. If you Google his background he’s from some hick place called Owensboro, Kentucky. Who from Kentucky has that perfect diction? Only an actor who’s become somewhat pretentious, that’s who. Mind you – giving a couple million to the hospital that treated your daughter puts him higher up in my eyes than most other celebrities.
That’s true….then again it could be a pay off….hmmmm. Just kidding! Yes it was very nice of him to give all that money. As for me….I had surgery, but I’m back in action!
