Depp wants to be anonymous

Johnny Depp told Esquire magazine that he wishes he could be anonymous, saying, “I’m sure it will be a possibility someday again. Maybe when I get old. They get tired of you.” Depp says he doesn’t understand the attention paid to celebrities and wants no part of it. “I don’t want to be a product,” he elaborates. “Of course you want the movies to do well. But I don’t want to know… who’s hot now and who’s not and who’s making this much dough and who’s boffing this woman or that one. I want to remain ignorant of all this. I want to be totally outside and far away from all of it.” Depp, who lives in France with Vanessa Paradis and their two children, can next be seen on the big screen in the musical Sweeney Todd.

Maybe the movies were not very deep but his performance was exceptional. His talent is far and above most of his peers.

Put it this way you could ask him to play any role and he would not only put his heart into it he would murder it. The only real bankable star in hollowood.
