Despite objections, David Spade is a dad

By Alexandra Heilbron on September 4, 2008 | 16 Comments

A pensive looking David Spade at the premiere of The House BunnyDavid Spade is the new father of a baby girl with former fling/Playboy Playmate Jillian Grace. Up until now, Spade had vehemently denied being the father and reportedly ordered a paternity test. The former Saturday Night Live star admitted to having a brief relationship (in other words, a one-night stand) with Grace and vowed to take full responsibility if he was the father. But, even after test results proved him to be the biological dad, Spade has still not seen his daughter, who was born on August 26th. “David and Jillian have been in close contact throughout her pregnancy and he plans to go see the baby during his first break from shooting Rules of Engagement,” Spade’s rep, Meredith O’Sullivan, explained to People magazine. Hopefully he’ll eventually be able to work his daughter into his busy schedule.

Well, he’s always seemed like a pretty good guy so, I’m sure he will find time for his child it’s just that he cannot just drop what he is doing right now as he is under a contract which he has to fulfill….but, he’ll be there ASAP.

“Hopefully he’ll be able to work his daughter into his busy schedule”…what a sad comment

to have to WORK your children into your busy schedule?

How about being more responsible in the moment and then not be having to work your offspring into your busy life? Sheesh.

Hopefully he’ll come to bat and WANT to spend time with his child, if it truly is his.

Lord knows Jillian is as hot as they come, but sheesh use some common sense and some condoms!

Let’s hope he does own up to his responsibility.

Jillian Grace slept with Pauly Shore too, so looks and popularity aren’t priorities of hers. Maybe she just wanted a rich guy to knock her up so she can live on the child support.

How does this guy manage to bed all those hot babes? What’s he got hiding in those tattered jeans of his?

    Ew! Ew! EWWWW!

Well Anonymous, I never said that I control David Spades schedule….I said he has a contract for the movie he is in and that contract was there before the child was born AND before the paternity test. I’m sure he will (in MY OPINION) go and see his daughter when his contractual duties have been fulfilled.

Now, Dogmeat…..who’s to say that he never wore a condom?

I think David seems like a nice guy….and I’m sure all of you are totally gorgeous….NOT!!!! GAG!!!

Jo-Anne, i’m pretty sure the comment about him being able to work his child into his schedule was sarcastic

sarcastic or not, Anonymous, the storyline is on Spade firstly “vehemently” denying his fatherhood and reportedly planning to see the child “on his first break”…hopefully he’ll step up to the plate in the years to come and be a dad in the true sense of the word

    time will tell

Who knows, if she bangs David Spade, it’s reasonable to assume other random junk has been shoved in her trunk over the course of a month. By vehemently denying paternity, the man was simply playing the percentages.
If he has no intention of maintaining a relationship with this woman, it’s probably best that the kid gets used to a single-parent household. The chick can console herself with the bank account balance increasingt at the end of every month so she can keep going out to bang other C-list celebrities.

I think you mean 2 single parent households!! It is not the childs fault what happens or does not happen between her parents. She still deserves a mother and a father! Many children have parents who are divorced, etc. Doesn’t mean one of the parents has to be removed from the childs life. As for Jillian being consoled by her bank account balance increasing at the end of every month….I really don’t think she needs the money. She seems to be able to make her own cash just fine.

He didn’t believe it was his child at first, that unfortunately seems to be the case with many people. But now that he knows it’s his, hopefully he will step up to the plate and do the right thing, and be a real father to this child.

Why is everyone attacking him ? Seeing as women have all the reproductive rights and a amazingly unfair advantage in the family courts, she is more to blame for bringing this poor, innocent child into a less than savory situation with a guy she barely knew. Men really had no say in whether they want to become fathers in these situations. The only birth control available to them happens to be the least effective so the only choice they have is to abstain or perhap fall victim to these irresponsible women. This child would certainly not be here, if she had decided she didn’t want to be a mother. I don’t see anyone asking why she was not taking her pill properly. Women like her set a bad example and the women’s equality movement back tenfold. I’m sure she’ll be getting a nice fat check every month. I would never bring a poor child into the world unless I had the father’s full planning and blessings so we could raise them as a unit.
