Details about The Dark Knight Rises costumes

Details on the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises are being kept under tight wraps, but we’re finally getting some more news. GQ Magazine spoke to costume designer Lindy Hemming about her work on the film. “[The film’s villain] Bane was meant to look like a cross between a dictator and a revolutionary,” she said. “I designed the coat myself — it took a year. We took inspiration from a Swedish army jacket and a French Revolution frock coat and amalgamated the two.” Gotham’s favorite billionaire, Bruce Wayne, will once again be donning the fancy suits. “Christian Bale was in Armani in the last film and I used Armani again for character reasons,” she said. “Bruce Wayne is himself playing a part: that of a wealthy man who owns an enormous company and so a luxury brand like Armani seemed the right choice.” As for Batman’s costume? Well, it seems there might be slight alterations. “There’s very few changes,” Hemming explained. “The only modifications are to do with the story. But I can’t tell you what they are.” The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20. ~Rodrigo Cokting

Bane holding up a picture of Harvey has got my curiosity juices flowing. Looking forward to this.

Meh I don’t see what all the fuss is over – I don’t think it’ll be that great anyways

Robin–WTF, what is the fuss over? It’s a great unique series of films. Basing comics on reality and doing a damn fine job at it. Maybe you weren’t one of the billion people who watched the Dark Knight and thought it was fantastic.

Right there with you C-Dub, Nolan is the only one that gave Batman (superhero genre for that matter) the treatment it deserved, for adults to truly enjoy the nuances between good and evil.He completely took all the corny crap out of it and made them real dramas. Honorable mention to Spider-Man 1&2, the third one was just atrocious.
