Divergent author to release stories from perspective of Four

Divergent author Veronica Roth has a treat for fans in the form of four short e-stories starring Tris’ tall, dark and handsome boyfriend, Four. According to PublishersWeekly.com, The Transfer will be released on September 14, a month ahead of the release of Allegiant, the final book of the series. Unlike the Divergent trilogy, which is narrated by Tris (played by Shailene Woodley in the film), brooding Four (played by Theo James) will take center stage. Each e-story will cost only $1.99 and will be 30 pages long. They’ll explore Four’s mysterious background before the events of the first installment of the Divergent trilogy.

“The e-shorts are a way for me to delve into another character’s voice and personality and history, which is fun and exciting for me as a writer,” says Roth, who acknowledges that fans are curious to know more about the character. “I also know, from many tweets and blog comments and in-person comments, that Divergent readers are interested in hearing more of his voice, which made him an obvious candidate! My readers have given me so much enthusiasm and honesty and wisdom. The opportunity to write something that I knew they wanted to read was really appealing to me.” The final three Four-centered e-stories (The Initiate, The Son and The Traitor) will be released consecutively on December 17, January 21, and February 11. Divergent heads to movie theaters next year on March 21, 2014. ~Alfonso Espina
